Major disappointment with shoes and sandals purchases from Clarks online this week

My 3 pairs of Clarks shoes (2 Velcro-strapped sandals and a pair of Nubuck walking shoes) arrived today....almost a week earlier than promised.  I was very excited.

To my dismay, I have to return everything.  I never had this happen with Clarks before !

Each pair of shoes / sandals had a weird new feature: a very deep wavy line which hit between the metatarsal/ ball of the foot and the toes.  It was most uncomfortable so I tried to place an insole in the shoe:  it still was uncomfortable even after I had removed the offending wavy-lined Clarks insole.

I tried walking with my insole placed on the sandal footbed just to see how it felt....same problem.

With the walking shoe there was another issue: the stiff tongue was so high that it cut into the front of my ankle.

No more online Clarks purchases....their stores rarely carry very much in size 11 that I am interested in.

I am returning the purchase to their outlet store so I will only have their shipping charge docked from my refund. At least I will get to some of my other favorite stores there.

Be careful and try the shoes / sandals as soon as they arrive so you won't miss the retur

@jlkz

Isn't that disappointing?  Darn!  Woman Sad

I have auch a hard time finding comfortable shoes that I've gotten to the point where I won't order online unless I already own that brand and style and am just getting more of what I know I like.

The return shipping fees were killing me.

Well, better luck next time.

I purchased a pair of Ryka and Sketchers. I have a regular size 6 for my entire adult life with no foot issues.

Both pair were as cheaply made as possible, were too big and the material stretched offering zero support. Returned defective.

Never buying Q shoes again.

@Tinkrbl44

I'm the same way with Yellow Box flip flops and Skechers sneakers. It's yellow box from March through October and Skechers for the rest of the year.

@jlkz   I also had a major Clark's disappointment last week.  It's a closed toe clog that was so heavy when you lifted a foot while walking, it fell off with each step.  It was so stiff you couldn't bend your foot.  I suspect it was very old stock as I've not seen shoes made like that in recent years.

I quit buying Clarks many years ago because of those kinds of seams or whatever across the top and that sizing is inconsistent.

So interesting you posted. I have returned all 4 of the Clark's I have ordered this year.  I have always been happy with the fit, but this year none of them have worked.  Even the insoles rub blisters on my toes.  I have just had to quit ordering them

jlkzz  I know what you mean.  I've been having a really hard time in recent months purchasing shoes on the Q.  I have to return practically every pair.  That is no fun.  The main problem is that the host and vendor fail to give sizing information. They're both wearing the shoes being presented.  I'd like to hear how the shoes feel, size up or size down.  Instead, it's useless chit-chat and giving colors over and over again.

I gave up on Clarks years ago when all three pairs of clogs fell apart on me.

The top came apart from the sole.  I'm just glad I wasn't out when it happened.
