Hi, all my fellow animal lovers! I have a question about Maine Coon cats. I have a 6-year-old, BooBoo, that we adopted when he was 4 months old, from a rescue shelter. he's the apple of my eye and I couldn't love him more.

However, I'm not blind to the fact that he's...well...dumb. In the most lovable and comical way but still, he's not very bright.

Is this common in Maine Coons? I've heard both: that they're noted for their intelligence, and I've heard from other people, mostly Maine Coon owners, that they're dumb. BooBoo certainly is and I'm wondering if I have an unusually dumb cat or is this par for the course?

He's such a love and he reminds me of Ferdinan The Bull--a big macho looking animal, who perfers to be out in the meadow sniffing the flowers.
