@Kachina624

About 5 years ago, my pension fund declared me dead.    THAT was a horror story.

Took over 6 months to get it straightened out...tons of paperwork and an affidavit from my banker.

I have known for 40 years that there  are several persons with the exact same name as mine.  One of them worked at the SAME company as me, but an overseas  location.  (And it's NOT a very common one.)

It has caused me a great deal of trouble with banks, insurance companies, etc.     di

In my building,  if the box becomes filled the carrier leaves a taped note telling the tenant to pick up future mail at the post office.

They could ask the building staff if you were dead or not I guess.

It happens frequently with younger tenants.  Physical mail isn't that big a deal.

I get so little mail I can easily go 2-3 weeks with plenty of space left.  No big deal.  99.5% is unimportant.

I can go for several weeks without looking at my mailbox.

The only important things would be a jury summons (I'm not due) or a letter from the IRS and I'm good there.

I would never , ever do that. People are always watching and might assume vacant house and break in.

That mailman was correct.

I get all my mail and packages at my office.  The only mail I get at home is my electric bill and junk mail.  I only check it once a week just so it does not get too full with junk.  Since my office address is also on my driver's license and not my home address all things like jury summons and voter i.d. card come to my office as well.

Would only be of interest to me if a package was definitely scheduled for Monday.  Otherwise my mail sits in the PO Box for a couple of weeks.

The sub division I live in the mail boxes are in one area. I check my Daily Digest everyday to see what's coming.

Haven't checked for almost two weeks. Nothing I need but will clear it out tomorrow. It's only a 3 minute walk.

By the way, when did the P.O. changed it to "Daily Digest"?

As far as I can tell, just a day or two ago.

@geezerette  I just realized it this morning. I was wondering if it was always called Daily Digest and that I forgot. Thanks for letting me know that I'm not losing it lol.
