I had no idea there was a food drive today.  Was it in the newspaper, or did the post office leave a note in your mailbox?

What???  I don't consider it tooting your own horn when someone is kind enough to participate in a food donation......really??!!!

we did not receive any notification and as far as i can tell no one around me has set out any bags. we do give directly to our local food shelters all year long and also donate at some of our local supermarkets during the thanksgiving/christmas holidays.

@NickNack, we got a little post card from USPS the beginning of the week & yesterday we got a white, plastic bag for the donation.  Think it says about the food drive on it.  I did it so fast this morning, I wasn't paying very good attention!

No notification in our area either, and if memory serves last time no one bothered to pick up the bags.

In many areas the contributions are collected by volunteers. Leave it out there, they will get it. In our area they use volunteers and , unless it is inside the mailbox it is picked up by the volunteers. If it is inside the mailbox only the postmen can get it as volunteers are not allowed to actually open the boxes.

They did a very poor job of advertising it this year and the lack of volume of what was given is showing it. Sad.

Yesterday our mailman left two large paper bags in our mailbox that had info on them about leaving donations out for them to pickup today. They have already picked them up here.
