When they announced the strike my first thought was that there are so many ppl who can't work at their jobs and would have no issues backfilling those that are on strike.

That's why any attempted strike won't do anything. These are Uber drivers of the street. They scramble around all day, get a call from a stores near them. They go from store to store, filing bags. All the while they contact the customer on cellphone messaging each other in case the item is not there, need a substituion, etc. when they're filled, they go back in their car and deliver food. They do all of this. I was constantly on the smart phone with them messaging back & forth. Crazy! Amazon Fresh was ever like that. You placed your order and that was that. Instacart is a whole different game! The get and hourly wage plus the tip the customer put on their credit card. They can do this part time or full time. By the way, when they come they show their picture to the customer (pulled up) and the "name"

I think you jinxed me. My Instacart order just came and for the first time one item was missing - sold out of eggs! I am pretty sure I can get then at Costco but then I would have to purchase 24 which is a lot of eggs for one person!

@DiAnne LOL... you so right. No eggs! Well no eggs at my local grocery store, Wegmans and Giants! I have been hunting eggs almost as much as search toilet paper. But nexxt time....I'll try again. Eventually, we'll get some eggs....

Pre-virus it was RARE that Instacart had to contact me regarding a replacement item because something was out of stock...They did this on your order because of the virus situation and some stores not being stocked in certain items....its an usual time...

Thanks. I wondered about that. Every time I put the phone down, they were back talking about an order. When I created my order, they texted me telling me to download a free app. I did. I must say it got things done! Only one mishap. Kind of embarrassing. The Wegman driver put my bags against my screen door. I couldn't get the door open! Finally I pushed as hard as I could and could squeeze through. Thankfully I'm 110 lbs. Seriously. I could barely get through the door.

I used InstaCart for the first time this morning (I also gave up on Amazon Fresh). Placed a Wegmans order around 9am - it said delivery would be tonight. It arrived late morning, I was shocked to see the driver pull up. I was so happy to replenish the meats and other items I wanted to get. But - I didn't receive about half of my order, out of stock I guess (not talking about TP or paper towels, I didn't even bother to look for those) - and the driver never called or texted me to say those were not available, so that surprised me. Maybe I had my settings messed up, I have to look. But I was thrilled and will definitely order again and probably sign up for a membership.

Check on your Instacart Account how you are set up for notifications---the Shopper will text and ask you to approve substitutions, or you can set it up to have them call you instead.....If they dont hear from you they might go with the replacement they selected or just remove the item from your list....

On the special instructions add a note not to put bags directly on the screen door, place them near the door instead...

Yes, next time I'll say please do not lean bags in front of/against the door. For reason I didn't think of that. I just simply wrote leave on porch. Meanwhile, I'm going to check out Shipt.
