Don't you people have Walmart stores?  I picked up a load of groceries last Thursday.  Free.  No inflated prices.

I went to Walmart online the other day to try this.  Not available at my local Walmart.  The closest one that does it is a 30 min drive.  I just checked again, it would not pull up my local store.  It sounds like a great service but it isn't available to everyone unfortunately.

@Kachina624   We have one about five to seven miles away. I don’t go to that town or store. People there I don’t want to be around. Won’t say anymore except they are not following the no huge gatherings, stay home, no school etc. etc. etc.

@Spurt

Glad your stores are taking precautions.  Don't understand why all stores aren't doing more.  It's not for lack of information, that's for sure!

Re: Made my first order through Instacart

I totally get why someone would use this service, whatever they charge, it's worth every penny. I went food shopping this morning, what a nightmare! I got there before they opened, there was a line. They were out of so many items I wanted to get. At the deli counter, you now have to stand WAY back. The check out lines were so long, also there are yellow circles on the floor indicating where to stand, if your too close the cashier will tell you. People are losing their tempers, a customer was yelling at one of the workers. Needless to say there was no toilet paper, paper towels, and frozen vegetables. I hear on TV the supplies for grocery items is better, where I shop I don't see it.

Re: Made my first order through Instacart

@songbird

You "won't eat food from Walmart?" What "food" is that? Frozen foods, canned foods, dairy products, bread, Ragu sauce, Prego Sauce, etc., etc., etc.? The same foods and brands carried by other stores?🤔 Is there something the rest of us should know about those items?

If you want to get in the "Pay More Here Line" for the same items available at lower prices, elsewhere, go ahead. But don't suggest that others who don't, are buying inferior "food."

@Mj12 My closest Walmart has it...and it's a 30-minute drive. I don't understand your problem.

@proudlyfromNJ Are any chain grocery stores following those guidelines?

It's in a bad area -  if I can get groceries much closer or delivered (which I did) I won't be driving there.

And I feel a whole lot better.  I was dreading going to the supermarket after that last visit which was so unpleasant.  At least I know there is food coming!  I have the app. so I'll be able to track it.  Earlier I tried once again to get through Amazon Fresh.  I almost cried.  Nothing was available   I watched my order disintegrate because they didn't have it in stock. Of course Amazon is free delivery charge.  Not Instacart.  I will see if I like it.  I might enter membership.  Th deliver fee was a little high because I used 2 supermarkets (Wegmans & Giant)  I love Wegmans to begin with so I'm hopeful.  I just could not face that other supermarket tomorrow!

My day was terrible.  We had technical issues with the computer today and I could not contact my boss.  The worry over food hung over me.....  I finally got up and vacuumed the place.  I have not been outside in 2 weeks.  Then the water pipe (under the kitchen sink) broke!!!  My husband says he can fix it.  So he ordered parts from Amazon.  Yeah right.
