Every Christmas Eve I post this poem that I wrote I believe now about 5 years ago.

It's just a silly little thing but a lot of my fellow posters seem to enjoy it.

MY TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

twas the night before christmas
as I looked in my room
and saw all the boxes
brought to me by Sam Boone

Now Sam was a nice guy
who worked for UPS
and a path to my door
he had made in distress

everyday he would trudge
through the snow to my porch
sometimes late at night
while carrying a torch

with apples and lip gloss
and cheesecakes aplenty
a few lava keychains
and cocoa that was minty

a teapot that flowered
a few good men that smelled nice
a blanket with sleeves
and a pot to cook rice

a twisty type towel that
kept hair off my neck
and spikes for my shoes
for the ice I would trek

a prime rib roast
on my table to stand
and cashmere gloves
to encase my hands

so many boxes
right up to my knees
but at a dollar a day
how bad could it be

and soon I'll lie down
on my down filled bed
and have visions of bills
that soon I will dread

and Sam I am sure
is resting tonight
as he thinks of my house
with utter delight
that no longer will he
have to see my face
carry a box to the porch
and put it in place

so as I start wrapping
by the dining room light
Merry Christmas to all
and to all a Good Night!!!!
