It's really a shame, with Chris Mathews.  He is smart, he does his homework, he knows what he's talking about, but the 5-minute long questions, and then as soon as the guest starts to respond he overtalks them and goes on even more, was just more than I could handle.

I don't do well with constant interrupting and over-talking.    I just can't.

I agree with your thoughts.  I have come to enjoy Erin Burnett's show during that time slot.  I first noticed her on CNBC.

I used to enjoy Scarborough's show more than I do these days.  Both he and Mika get on my nerves at times, but the show still beats the heck out of the competition, IMO.

As I don't get to see it much of late as I have to be up and out by 6:15 a.m. I haven't noticed Mika's absence, but time off during the summer and early Fall would be very understandable.  Maybe she and Joe just took turns getting some time off rather than them being gone at the same time.

Mika receives her talking points, and reads them on "Morning Joe."

He also seems to interrupt women guests more than men.

MSNBC paid woman who said Chris Matthews harassed her

An MSNBC spokesman has confirmed a report saying a news channel staffer had been paid and left the job after complaining she was sexually harassed by 'Hardball' host Chris Matthews nearly two decades ago.

The spokesman said the woman approached CNBC executives in 1999 to report Matthews made inappropriate comments about her in front of others. CNBC is a sister company of MSNBC.

MSNBC said the payment was “separation-related compensation,” which means the payment was tied to the woman leaving her job. The company would not release the payment amount, citing confidentiality. The company also declined to elaborate on the reprimand.

No, she reads the actual news items she has been given with specifics. Her talking points are her own contributions, if she can get a word in edgewise.
