Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian honor, Medal of Honor is military

It has nothing to do with celebrity- Maya Lin the architect of the Vietnam Memorial received it today, so did a Native American woman who fought for their rights and Admiral Grace Hopper first lady of software. Several women in history who probably don't get the recognion they deserve. Just the sheer number of recipients today made it seem like all celebrities. And the media focuses on the celebrities.

I am a big fan of Bruce Springsteen so it was great to see him receive this award.

I just wish they would honor more people that are not famous ... who dedicate their lives helping the less fortunate.

Well, I know at least one of these recipients gives a lot in time and money to the less fortunate. Don't know about the rest.

No doubt those awarded today, do give a lot time and money to the less fourtunate. It would be nice to also include some regular folk too.

Just click the 3 dots in the top right corner of your OP.

I think you see "Edit" as an option and you can edit the subject and the post as well.

@YorkieonmyPillow  There was an online petition to have Gary nominated (now closed) but somehow Hanks was edged in.
