He may be gross to look at, but he's a fine chef. I suppose because of the way he looks, he seemed harmless. That's why I am still amazed that he is one of the latest to fall.

@RainCityWoman- he is gross and sloppy in every way.  I've met up with this character numerous times and it wasn't nice.  I find it sad that Lydia has to deal with his dirt which has finally come out.  I've been to his restaurants and he is not remarkable and I don't think without the Bastianich name behind him, he would have his current success.  I'm sure his "stepping away" from his restaurants was forced.  He is an arrogant pig who just happened to have the necessary contacts in the culinary world.  I hope he becomes a "has been" but he "never was" in my eyes.  And, he wasn't harmless with rape room at another establishment.  Everyone knew about Batali

I have been done with Mario and Lidias son Joe since I found out about their tip skimming in which they were successfully sued by over 100 employees for over $5 million dollars.

I am personally really over Rose McGowan too for having the nerve to call out Alyssa Milano, Meryl Streep and others for what she says is not being involved enough in support of other women. Sorry but if your silence is bought with money to not report what Harvey did to you and you then go on to work with a director who served jail time for raping a child (and recording himself doing it) and you say that is none of your business, he is a sweet man, you don't get to judge other women for how they didn't do enough to call out Harvey or support other women. She is a hypocrite.

Hi @Irshgrl31201

Nice to see you, I hope all is well.  I just read an article detailing Rose McGowan going after the response of other women, a lot of name calling, and the response from Amber Tamblyn.  Too bad, she's going after the wrong people.

I just came across a somewhat related news story.  Jason Priestley attended a Harvey Weinstein party.  Weinstein reportedly pushed him around and demanded Priestley come with him.  Priestly refused, Weinstein grabbed him harder and Priestley punched him in the face.

@Noel7  Is this new news or a new report of old news?

ETA...it's an old story, 1995.  Priestly is talking about it now.  Why?  Anyone's guess I suppose.

Hey @Noel7 good to see you too! I am doing good now, was in the hospital for a bit, I had sepsis so that was fun!! lol! How are you doing? Good I hope! Hope you and your family have a great holiday!

Yes, I am just really disappointed with the way she has handled this. I also read Ambers response and I was glad to see it.

Well, we've done it again @Irshgrl31201  In the hospital at about the same time.  I was in for five days with Type B flu, a respiration flu, a tough one to beat.

I am so sorry you had sepsis and I hope you have recovered.  You sure didn't need that to deal with.

Yes, Amber dealt with it nicely, that was good to see.  Rose has a real chip on her shoulder.

I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a healthy Happy New Year.

Re: MARIO BATALI FIRED

[ Edited ]

I applaud Rose for being somewhat of a persistent pioneer about this issue. But from the first time I read some of her words, I just intuitively thought that she's a bit off in some way. I would not want her to be a spokesperson for any cause of mine -- too combative and dramatic instead of rational, logical, and compelling.

I wonder what happens if a rock star (or any musician) in a group gets charged with sexual misconduct.  Do they get kicked out of the band? Does that mean the show is over?  No more concerts?

Is it up to the public?  Will be interesting it see how it 'plays out'.

It's always been known that some genres of music have 'groupies' and lots of hanky panky going on.  Just like we've always heard of the 'casting couch' in Hollywood.

I'm wondering when the first person will speak up.

@Lucky Charm

If it's an individual or a band member they can lose their record deal, their promoter, the sponsors of their tours, their management company or agent.  The arenas or concert venues they play in may cancel their appearance.

There are a lot of consequences.

Groupies are there by their own volition and are mutual consenting individuals. Big difference.

Yes Rose is quite the pioneer in bringing awareness to feminine causes. I can't post the picture here, but Google Marilyn Manson and Rose McGowan on Red Carpet at the 1998 MTV awards. Quite a statement.

What does her outfit at a red carpet event have to do with anything?
