The CEOS,stated that the standards for laminate production required that the product meet CA requirements and if that was not taking place they would immediately contact the suppliers and correct the situation. The entire interview set up the CEOS. I,have watched 60 Minutes as long as it has been broadcast and admired the show. This segment was unworthy of them.

Poor CEO's. How unfortunate for them that the violations were "brought to their attention".

The CEO knew what was going on. It's not news that their profits have increased so much compared to their competitors. He sees cost reports and has to be aware that costs are decreasing so much due to something shady. Plus Wall Street analysts are betting against his company. The CEO was NOT surprised by any of it.

Alleged proof? These tests were not borderline, rather overwhelming. Home Depot and Lowes products were found within the guidelines.

If this CEO felt ambushed, he simply needed to conduct his own independent tests and present the results to 60 Minutes.

THIS is the ""60 Minutes"" I used to watch every week!

Thanks to all who put this expose together.

The voices, I agree, weren't "proof."

But the testing done in the USA by 60 Minutes proved above all doubt that Lumber Liquidators took short cuts to help their bottom line.

Other companies did OK - LL were the big cheats in the story.

LL needs to pay for removal of ALL tainted products from homes...and replacement with better quality, safe material.

I hope they do a follow up...

The Chinese workers in the factories are wearing almost no protection. It looked like a flimsy mask covered one worker's nose and mouth. I wonder what their incident of respiratory illnesses are.

I felt badly for them too.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Shares of Lumber Liquidators fell sharply Monday, after a “60 Minutes” report alleged the U.S. retailer of hardwood flooring has installed Chinese-made laminate flooring in many American homes that contain far higher-than-accepted levels of formaldehyde, a chemical known to cause cancer.

Shares of the Toano, Va.–based Lumber Liquidators LL, +0.00% were down 23.2% at $39.47 in premarket trade.

They were ALREADY being investigated for illegally buying Russian lumber (we have trade sanctions against Russia).

They aren't just immoral liars - they aren't patriotic either!

I did not see the report. We did go to our local LL and I was not impressed with their pricing...nor their choices almost 2 years ago. We went with a local company and got better quality and better pricing.

I wasn't impressed with LL either.

Do we want cheap products made overseas or do we want products made here that cost more?

I do wish we'd start manufacturing our own goods again...

I think our financially security in the long run depends on bringing back manufacturing to our own shores.
