There are conversion kits on Amazon but it looks like a lot of work. I'd just buy new suitcases at Costco or TJ Maxx.

They do sell 360 degree wheel replacements. Don't know if you can swap out the regular ones, but worth a try. If it's a carry-on make sure the new wheels don't increase the size.

By the time you monkey around with that and not have it work or not work very good you could buy a new one. TJ Maxx has good prices as does Kohls when they run a sale. I bought a new suitcase about a year ago and there is no comparison to the old straight line wheel variety.

Started out with the question on Google and then spent some time on Amazon.  

There used to be a " luggage  " repair shop but it is long gone.

I have a set of Tiger fabric-sided luggage that has straight line wheels.  We are foregoing drives to Florida and now flying is the preferred travel method.  All I remember from prior plane trips is fighting with the wheeled luggage pieces.  I don't want new luggage because this set looks great....it's the wheels that drove me crazy !

This project is just getting started !

@jlkz.  I doubt if changing wheels is a do-it-yourself project.  Those wheels take a lot of abuse and require reinforced application

Several places I've lived has a store called Liebler's Luggage at the mall.  They sell luggage but the also do repairs.  It may be a national chain.
