I have been a long time subscriber to Lucky. I had noticed the quality of the magazine has gone down and sometimes it was a double issue. I wasn't enjoying it anymore. Any way I got Self magazine in the mail yesterday. I know I'm not a subscriber. It had a card stating Lucky has ceased publication and I was going to receive Self for the rest of my subscription (I have like a year left). I don't like Self so I called to get a refund. If you get Lucky and don't want Self make sure you get a refund or change the magazine to another they offer.

That does not surprise me at all. Lucky became just a shadow of it's former self. I chose not to renew my subscription last year. Occasionally, I pick up a copy at the newstand.

Here's WHY, from June 2015:

About 2 years ago I was getting both Lucky and Self. I really disliked both of them and when my subscriptions ran out, I never renewed.
This would explain why HSN, who is infamous for giving magazine subscriptions with a TS, have been giving SELF, Allure and Glamour. No more Lucky.

Obviously, Lucky wasn't.

i used to buy Lucky magazine when they first launched. they had nice fashion and lifestyle stories it seemed about real women, but the later it felt like it was a copycat of InStyle without the editorials. and they were becoming like InStyle with the highend prices they showed.
just a bunch of ads and more "product placement" ads for the clothes they featured because the designers/mfg would throw the fashion samples at them
there was a time when friends called me Magazine Queen". no longer buy any fashion rags now just for a fat collection of CK, RL, Gucci and fragrance ads. i may flip through them waiting for an appointment.
seems they couldnt generate enough advertising to keep the publication afloat.

I used to get an email with the Lucky find of the day. I cannot remember when they stopped but it's been awhile.

I have subscriptions to both InStyle and Allure, and when they run out in April, I probably will not renew either of them. I used to love both of them, but lately to me all it seems like is a bunch of ads and celebs wearing clothing that the average person can not afford, so my subscription days are over. I will occasionally buy Allure at the store probably, but thats about it!
