Love/ Hate with my Dyson

I have the purple ball animal I bought at home depot last year and I love it for picking up pet hair and how clean my carpet looks with it. The hate part is when I use the telescoping handle and I am cleaning baseboards and other things the vacuum falls over. I was cleaning up around the Kitty's potty box tonight and heard a thump and it had fallen over in the hallway. This happen each time I try to stretch and clean with taking the handle off Does anyone else have this problem?
