Most people don't have money to save for vacations...yes it is in fact a privilidge! But I guess some just don't see it that way!

@LillyandHobo

How could you possible know what 'most' people have or don't have?

Possibly people YOU know....but you don't know everyone!

Are there studies and statistics showing this claim?

EVERY employee at my company takes a vac (or two) every year from the lowest paid to the highest.

Our 2nd lowest paid takes 3 cruises every year....and he deserves too.  They all work hard.

A laborer, hard hand work....no privilege, EARNED ...

I have a different view on this.  I don't feel it's wise to "announce" your house being empty for a certain week as you will be in ......wherever.   Opens you up for burglary, just sayin.

I'm always thinking of security.

I have always thought the same @LindaSal

And NOT just hosts....every FB person I know seems to put instant pics of them gone ALL over the interent?  Here we are on the beach, here we are out of the country....

Why do people do that????

I am not on FB, but my kids report to me where everyone is and what they are doing.   LOL

I do think the hosts do it.... as other people said....there will be TONS of posts if they are not on air for more than 2 days!   Geez, doesn't matter in the least to me where 'so and so' is!!

One ex-host (LR) had a seroius stalker. Since so many people think hosts are their friends and may try to contact them, I would keep my business private. Stalkers may invent relationships that don't  exist and could be dangerous.

The current employees do not know who is losing their jobs. Vacations are scheduled way in advance. They are entitled to time off & it’s not privilege; many were anxious to travel post pandemic.

My take on the OP was hope there would be changes in presentations with the focus on product over personal is a lost cause.  Product focus is clearly a lost cause in regard to most of the remaining hosts.

@Marp

That is my take, also.

@haddon9   People tell all on facebook also.  Pictures of their children, when they are on vacation, all kinds of interesting details about their lives.  I have never thought facebook to be a good idea and don't want to be on it for these reasons.

Hosts announcing vacation plans, etc could be as you say a bad idea.  Hopefully they have someone looking out for their homes while they are away with who knows who knowing that.

However, I do like hearing about their plans and experiences.

Are you watching the economy at all? People out of work or on Public Assistance. Are you watching the crimes occur? The thefts, looting, car jackings? My ins on my house and cars went up because of the crime. Every extra single dollar matters to people. Good for you and your co-workers! Woohooo for you!
