Thanks for the thread Croemer and all the interesting facts.

I enjoyed the movie.

Thanks everyone for participating!

It was fun Croemer.

Everybody be on the lookout now when and if they ever show the Elizabeth Montgomery version again and post it here....do a shoutout, cause I want to see that particular movie again. That was better than this recent one, IMO.

Yes, the version starring Elizabeth Mongomery was by far the best. This one didn't even keep my interest and the music was certainly not appropriate for the period.

I thought it was done very well! My hatchet is in the repair shop--seems the blades are dull and there is some sticky red stuff on it that they are trying to get off!

Re: ~*Lizzie Borden Viewing Thread*~

Just watched it. I thought it was very good. Christina Ricci did a great job. I did not mind the music. I had read all these posts before watching, so I was expecting modern music. It did not take away from the story for me.

This production certainly did a good job of pinning it on Lizzie. Of course, she does seem to be most likely one to have committed the crimes.

I do feel the jury came up with the correct conclusion based on the evidence, however. There was nothing to directly link Lizzie at all. There was reasonable doubt created based on the law and evidence, so they had to find as they did.

I also believe that the jury of all men really did have a hard time believing a woman could commit such gruesome murders. Too bad they did not have today's forensics to work with.

I must say I was intrigued by the maid. Very interesting story.

I just watched it. Not too bad except for the ridiculous music.

sounds like a real eye roller. lol. i recorded it but may never get around to watching it like the other many shows i've recorded. lol

anyone remember the movie perfect storm? that was another movie that was completely made up, except for the fact that they died.

I remember that movie. I assumed the story was fiction but the storm was real?

Yes, the storm was indeed very real. In fact, in the movie there is a real weather clip from a Boston weatherman (can't think of his name lol) who described it as the "perfect storm".

I remember that storm very well; and the re-enactment would have been based on the weather conditions and what very well happened to the Andrea Gail.

On topic: So the movie was kind of a disappointment?

I was disappointed in it Cakers. The actress who played Lizzie was pretty good and so was her sister but it was just sort of ho-hum.

The story of The Perfect Storm was real. I know the sister in law of one of the men killed.

Former sister in law now, they divorced.

eta: I am sure poetic license was taken with the script. But the basic facts were real

So, Marianne, the actual characters in the movie were real people? I always thought the characters were made up. I know the storm itself was real.

Yes, this was real, real people, real storm, real story….

My friend was the Sister In Law of the youngest crew member, Sully.

Thanks Marianne. I did not know that. I thought the characters were all made up. Terrible tragedy.
