I have a hemangioma on my liver.  The doctor compared it to having a benign mole on my arm

try to keep your mind at ease, which is easier said than done.

How do you know, @bri20?  Did the hemangioma cause pain?

They found it on a CT scan when I was having gall bladder issues.

I had no idea I even had it.  It causes no pain and doesn't need any follow up.

Yes, I hjave one at the top of my liver; it is a hemangioma-cluster of blood vessels forming a mass.

Most likely this is a result (for me) as a birth defect (so I am told).

Dont worry until you are told to, or have to have a liver biopsy (which I also have had ).

I'm glad you will be having a CT scan, it will help with the diagnosis. A liver mass is usually benign such as a hemangioma, hepatic adenoma, hepatic cyst, of focal nodular hyperplasia. They sometimes need to do a biopsy, but hopefully not in your case. Best wishes to you.

I was going to mention that they will probably want to do a liver biopsy, to see what is going on with your liver, I wish you the best!

Yes, I had 2. They were hemangioma's (which are not malignant).  They were growing and getting quite large. When they took me off of hormone replacement (Premarin) they shrank back down and I have never had problems with them since. That was about 20 yrs. ago.
