"Live each day as if it is your last" hit me in the face like a brick today. I met a woman five years ago in Hot Yoga, we bonded quickly because we were always the oldest in the classes, ours were the only noses that ran, and we were marathoners. Actually, she was still a current marathoner, running four or five a year at age 59. She was absolutely beautiful, and had a spirit with great radiance.

Last week, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer and was scheduled for surgery today. She passed yesterday. Just a couple of months ago, she started not feeling well, and it took that long to diagnose. She was married to the president of our university with a fabulous medical center, so know she was receiving great care.

She touched my life and my heart and I will miss her. Our lives are short.

That is so sad.  I am so sorry to hear that your good friend passed away.  That quote is absolutely true!

@MaggieMack ... I'm so sorry about your friend.  Yes, each day could be our last or someone very close to our hearts.  Love yourself and others as much and as often as possible.

@MaggieMack

I'm so sorry that you lost your friend.

Re: Live each day as if . . .

I feel for you! Life is way to short. A few years ago my best friend of 44 years  died suddenly of heart failure. We had literally just spent about an hour on the phone chatting and laughing.As we were hanging up she told me that she loved me,I told her I loved her too. She then told her daughter she was going to take a nap because she didn't feel well.She never woke up!! My life hasn't been the same since!! She was like a sister to me!

WE all need to take stock of our lives.We should not sweat the small stuff .I make sure I tell the people I love every day that I love them.I try to embrace each day as a gift.

@NicksmomESQ, I was once a mom to a Nick, too, a golden retriever. One of the great loves of my life, a wonderful rescue. I changed his name to Nick because I got him at Christmastime.
