@Pink123   She will have a difficult time getting 4.5 million for her place.

The previous owner sold the place to Lisa for much less than the listing price and less than they paid for it. It was on the market for 7 years before she bought it.

That property is beautiful and desirable, but not in a location where anyone with a million dollars or more to invest in real estate wants to live.

It was a poor choice for her to buy that place unless she planned on living and working there for many years.

She won't make a dime and it will bleed her dry. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes.

I hold a real estate license, in escrow now, and have taken many real estate investment courses, so this is not idle talk.

@Carmie , I agree.  I like Lisa and always have.  I have stated that I thought she should have stayed in her previous home and just rented office space somewhere in West Chester.

I heard that the neighbors were complaining about the ins and outs of traffic, running a business out of her home and that's why she decided to sell and move.  But, like I said, I think she would have been better off renting an office.  Then,  if and when she decided to close her business (like she is doing now), she wouldn't have invested in renovating or trying to sell a place that more than likely will not give her the amount that she is asking.

Absolutely @Carmie  a warehouse with a lease would have been much better financially idea for her.  Lease's have term limits, run out of gas, just like her business and your out free and clear.

She did have a nice home that I'm sure has appreciated in value quite nicely over the years.

Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

@Pink123   I agree, everyone thinks their house is worth more, but in my community, the house prices have exploded.

In the past year or two, homes have appreciated 100k to 200k in a few months.

Part of this phenomena in my area has been caused by legal immigrants who pay top prices and use cash.  Several family members go together and pool their money.

This has been driving up home prices.  The comps are off the wall now.

This action has even caused the fixer uppers to go up in price and now high rent has followed.

My home can sell for far more than I ever hoped....I am just holding my breath in case the market bottoms out.

I would hate to be in the market to buy a home.  The prices are high and the interest rates are high too, but not even close to the 10.75% rate we paid when buying our first home back in 1979.

As you know, many people buy a home with their hearts and not with their minds.  Unless you plan to live there forever, you need to buy like an investor.

For most people, a house is the most expensive thing they will ever own.  It is an investment.

Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

I have browsed her web site from time to time.  Her items are beautiful, for the most part!  This last month, I have bought 4 of her tops  and they are fabulous!  They were all marked half off.  Lisa was smart to leave the Q when she did.  I wish her and her new husband much success with their travel venture!

Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

I like Lisa & I've bought some really nice items from her. I never understood why she bought & remodeled that farm. lt's gorgeous, but I think she got in over her head.

She's only had the house for a short time.It seems like she didn't think it through. Now,with interest rates rising it's hard to sell. I wouldn't want that kind of stress on top of being a newlywed.

I hope Lisa finds what she's looking for. She deserves to have her happily ever after.

Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

I bought a beautiful cross necklace from her business many years back.  It's beautiful and I still wear it.  I started looking on her site again when I found out she was retiring.  I have bought several sets of Christmas ornaments, all on sale, and they are stunning.  I can't wait to decorate my tree with them this year.  I wish her all the best.

It looks like much of her life both personal and professional has changed since this gentleman came into the picture.

@CarmieHer property is not in Pottown!  I am familiar with that area also, I live north of it and it's a suburb of Philadelphia. Also, it is known to be horse country.
