They probably are grateful to her.  Let's face it - she is and was a great sales person.  Whether you like her or not, Lisa R knew how to create excitement about products.

I had no doubt Lisa left on her own terms.  I, though, think it was a mistake.  But, all that matters is that she's happy.

I think a lot of these giveaways are probably items she has in her huge stash that she received from QVC vendors.  I'm sure she had a closetfull or more of beauty items.

I totally think she left on her own.  QVC is not "dumb".  They'd never have pushed out their top saleswoman who was adored by so many.

And no, I'm not jealous, just an observation.

I see a savvy former television host using her popularity to make money ON HER OWN.

Lisa now works for herself - and can literally work anywhere in the world at any time.

She no longer has to work New Year's Eve at midnight, weekends, nights, holidays. She doesn't have to get dolled up 24/7. She can blog whenever the spirit moves her - on her own terms. She gets to travel - and write it off as business expenses.

She can monetize the great relationships she formed with both vendors and her viewers. She brings them together and convinces her former viewers to continue to buy beauty and fashion through her site - and SHE makes the commission.

I have a friend who is an agent for bloggers - getting them more "hits" and more advertising. Many bloggers and video bloggers make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Others make just a little - but they have turned a hobby (cooking. gardening, fashion, home decorating, etc.) into a money maker. My son is a scriptwriter and an editor - but as a freelancer, he makes money in many ways. He produced and edited a music video for a band - and now gets a royalty from YouTube - it went "viral" and was popular for a few months - everyone who worked on the project  shares the wealth. He gets about $250-$500/month now - when it got the most  hits - he made $2500 in the best month...just a share of the profits.

I'm also a friend with a blogger who turned her work into gigs on the Food Network and other Scripps channels - Nikki Dinki. She makes a TON of money now...mainly works from her home (except for when her show is taping)...just wrote her first cookbook and is expecting a little girl - she's having a blast - just like Lisa! BTW - please check out her blog and her book, "Meat on the Side"!

@terrier3- I think what Lisa lacks is originality and a wider audience.  You can be very successful in the blog world....but you need unusual products, unique complex recipes that are pleasing visually and interesting.  There is a lot of cauliflower going on and that is not snarky but I hate cauliflower....she wouldn't be selling the products from QVC vendors as it would be a conflict of interest as they all have websites....she can't offer shipping free nor special values and easy pay.  So she is going to have to sell a lot of unique costume jewelry....but it can happen...look at Alex and Ani....but, that jewelry is very creative in that it strikes an inner emotion to people.  Lisa may put an outfit together and I don't like her choices sometimes but it is her style and she likes it and she is younger than I.  But, I don't think she is particularly creative.  She has a flair for decorating but that's different than creativity.  her audience hasn't  changed because she is known to the QVC viewer only and until 2014 but not after.  I wish her well but don't see her becoming a star of the blogosphere but maybe she doesn't need income and this is just fun and amusement to her and that's fine.

@missy1  QVC would have not let her work out her old contract through the end of the year, nor thrown her "a farewell party" if she hadn't left on her own terms.........she would have just "disappeared"....aka Dave James, Dave King etc.

I can see that it would be natural to socialize with Q vendors and employees having made friendships working with them for so many years......continuing to plug Q products might also be because of her friendships with vendors, or perhaps she is getting paid to promote them ......who really knows...

Her FB page has been pretty boring for a while.  She gets up most mornings and shares a pic of the sunrise from the same location.  Honestly?  How many do we need to see?  Also sunsets. And describes her outfits that cost a few thousand.

I like her, don't get me wrong, but her FB page is BLAH!

I don't mean fired, laid off, or let go. What I mean by that is she wanted more, but they couldn't give her more. So yes, she did leave on her own terms, in a way.  IMO

Re: Lisa R's facebook page

[ Edited ]

I ventured to her facebook page again today after reading this thread (again!).

She has such an upbeat attitude, keeps her sense of humor, has energy to go, go, go.

She was in NYC, she was in LA, she spent today (Easter) at Alberti's, she was at Longwood Gardens (on my to do list with my sister next month!).

She has more friends than anyone I know.

Saw pics of her sister and brother and a beautiful picture of her and her dear mother.

Her mother must've been so proud to have raised a daughter who rises above the naysayers and has a positive outlook on everything in life.

She posts pics of sunrises because I think Lisa cherishes each day.  She has the time to (as do I) and maybe I will get up to watch the sun come up---even if I head back to bed afterwards!

Each day is a gift.  And I think Lisa knows this and appreciates it.

The debbie downers just drone on about another posted early morning picture, another roasted cauliflower.

All gifts!

This...

I agree. She had a significant role in the success of vendors for a number of product lines that now appear to be supporting her efforts...

I've also noted recently she lists 'coming soon' about some of the items she wears on her FB page, which would lead one to believe that sooner or later she'll be launching some sort of a line.
