I am still in the first season....up to the 10th epi by now.

I do enjoy it. I am torn with liking Don Draper (his persona, his calm attitude) and really disliking him (his womanizing). Peggy looks like she is going to be a major character - she is nothing like Joan (I don't think anyone is like JOAN) - is she pregnant by Pete Campbell? She seems to be a very reserved woman with an independant streak. I loate Pete Campbell.

It is a very interesting series. I wasn't born until the mid 1960's, and didn't work in an office setting until mid 1980's, so much of this behavior that is shown in the office (and home) setting is very alien to me and just shocking. Seriously. I cannot imagine my VP's sectarary getting him coffee or ice for his booze (there wouldn't be booze drinking at the office - not so brazen, at least) or handing up his coat.

Lots of smoking, but that was the norm back then. The casual drinking surprised me. The male and female interactions, for the most part, is pretty horrible with their sterotypes.

I will stick to it - is it up to its 5th year now? Got a lot of catching up to do.
