Can any one tell me why the Lindt Chocolate Auto Del Spring box is on backorder? Shouldn't they have planned ahead?

Maybe it's too warm to send it. Some areas of the country are already warmed up.
Here in PA, it will be 82 degrees today. Sometimes we still have snow this time of the year.
You can't send chocolate out when it will melt into a liquid mess.

Why don't you ask them. Why would you think QVC posters would have the answer?

@dinka. According to the business news, Lindt mostly has factories in Europe and one in the US making products for the US and Canada. Due to the tariffs, they decided to discontinue sending products from the US to Canada, reducing production at the NE US facility. Canada will get their Lindt from Europe to avoid retaliatory Canadian tariffs.
The disruption in production has apparently put the US facility behind resulting in late shipments. My AD order finally shipped 3/23 but won't be delivered until 4/2.
That's a long time for chocolate to spend in a hot truck or warehouse. I don't have high hopes.
They may be waiting for the weather to cool before shipping yours.

@dinka I received my Spring Box on March 14th. It was shipped on March 12th and received 2 days later. It sat in the UPS truck from 10 am until 6PM. It was during the week when it was warm outside. Needless to say, the chocolate was melted. It was not a pleasant experience. I let the social team know.
On Lindt's website, it stated they had different procedures for warm weather. Apparently, they ship products Fedex with ice. I don't know why the QVC customers are treated differently.

@Kachina624 I read your posts, did you read what happened with mine? If the chocolate sits in the UPS truck, it will melt.

It may be best to buy your Lindt locally.
