ITA.

That is what managers are there to do...to supervise and motivate employees to do the best job possible.

Treating adults like kindergarteners is the fastest way to turn off your staff, IMO.

terrier, the problem is that sometimes the managers are worse than the employees! Lol. Smiley Happy

Then the company is run by a bunch of losers and deserves to get whatever grief they have coming to them!

Did it ever occur to you that maybe they have a medical issue? It could be temporary or long term.

I am unfortunately very aware of adult diapers as I am a nurse, and they do LEAK and smell - is that who you want teaching your child with something running down their legs or smelling like pee or worse. When you have a medical issue that prevents being able to do your job then you should be being treated for it not wearing a diaper to work for Heaven's sake. For instance - when a person has a urinary tract infection they have to pee very frequently, but one trip to the doctor - antibiotics and , VIOLA, that urgency goes away immediately.

No it doesn't. I used to get frequent UTIs and antibiotics don't kick in immediately.

This has nothing to do with adult diapers. This has to do with not letting people use the bathroom when they need to for one reason or the other. It could be for a myriad of reasons. Just because you have to use the bathroom more frequently than someone else doesn't mean you can't do your job properly.

VIOLA????? Isn't that a flower?

Speaking of bathroom stuff, SSDD with this one, isn't it? {#emotions_dlg.devil2}

If there is a problem with someone leaving their workstation for abnormal amounts of time, or not getting their work accomplished, then it should be taken up individually with the employee.

ITA, and with your comment that it's treating adults like they're in kindergarten.

Re: Limiting bathroom breaks....

Not gonna lie.....I have 2 people that I work with that take advantage of ""bathroom breaks"".

With that being said I think employers need to stay out of the bathroom.

Re: Limiting bathroom breaks....

It's a sad day for us if the working public is unable to go to work during the day and not turn on their cell phone while they are at work and must resort to running to the restroom to chat, check email facebook twitter etc.

I just can't believe there are people that are that addicted to their phones, that they actually go to the restroom and stay in there for a long time just to use their phones. What is wrong with these people? Do they not care about keeping their job?

I guess this is not something I understand, when I was working, we did not have cell phones and something like that wasn't an issue.

I don't know how employers deal with this. Yes it seems silly to limit employee's restroom visits and time spent in there, but really if it's your business and you are having problems where people disappear to the restroom for periods of time during the day, what do you do about it? Ignore it and keep paying them for doing their facebook stuff on the clock? I don't understand what employees are thinking, and I really don't understand what employers can do about it.

SMH. This is just a shame this is even an issue today.

Re: Limiting bathroom breaks....

Straykatz: I'm often wondering exactly who these people are texting/talking to all day long? Are they texting/talking to folks who actually have a job and are working at their workplace? Or are they talking to millions of unemployed folks? Exactly who has the time to text/talk? I don't know of anyone who wants to spend their entire day on the phone/text/etc. It's been said that the youngsters/tweens/teens will have carpel tunnel type of thumb problems by the time they are adults, which means that they possibly won't be able to work at certain jobs/careers. Edited: to explain that I meant non-work related texting.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
