Fond remembrances.  So glad I grew up then.

Simpler?  Maybe.

But it wasn't all "Father Knows Best".

I am not so sure, many women were treated as second class citizens, they were expected to keep the house,  make the meals and be subservient to their husbands and do not get me started on minorities or those that had less

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

Not better, just different. I would hate to dress like that. Must have taken hours to get ready just to have a milkshake. Nothing was easy just they didn't know any better. I'm sure in 50 years people will look back at us and say the same thing.

Just thought these pictures were fun to look at.  Not trying to be controversial.  Geeeeze.

Re: Life in the 50's

@roxxy1

Love the pink stove!  I enjoyed the photos even though, I agree with @Big Joanie

When I look back to my own childhood living in a town of 2,000 people, it seemed simpler and certainly more innocent.

I know there were undercurrents of racism in my little town, so it wasn't so great for some people.

However, I'm happy to have mostly sweet memories of that time.
