Hi, I don't post often but was wondering if anyone else receives letters about their number of returns. I think it is related to a TSV where I purchased 3 tops and matching bottoms and had to return them all because they didn't fit. The size chart wasn't accurate. I don't purchase that often but will return items when the product doesn't work etc. The hosts use the 30 day return as a benefit of purchasing but now the powers that be don't want too many returns. I get the fact that there is a cost to QVC to ship the item and then restock or possibly put the item in "as is" but if you purchase 3 TSV items and they don't work you have to return them all. I don't like paying the incoming or outgoing shipping either. I now have an item that I need to return because the quality and appearance of the item aren't what I was expecting. I am just not sure what the solution is except not purchasing anything anymore.

@NCGirl2017. You have to have return quite a few items to get one of those letters. They don't publish a number but it's a percentage of your total purchases. You'd think after one mistake, you'd realize what size you need and could make the correct choice since they're consistent across all lines.
The actual garment measurements are listed for every item, located at the end of the text that describes the item. That's the most accurate way to assure a good fit.

I agree that it has to do with the percentage of returns vs. the number of items that you keep.
Believe me, I return an awful lot but I do keep much more (yes I buy too much) so I haven't gotten that letter.

The letter has been around for a very long time and is not something one receives for returning 3 items. It's received when one becomes a liability to the company by purchasing and returning habitually and is not unique to qvc. Other companies have similar tolerance levels.

I got one of these about 10 years ago!
Pretty insulted too.
But it seemed the Q made up for it though.
My reasons were all the same as yours too.❤️

I got one of those stupid letters years ago too--just tore it up and continued on. I think it is very rude of QVC---you pay for the returns. Return what doesn't meet your needs or expectations. The size charts NEVER fit me at all----I don't buy much here anymore either. I do research the things I am interested in and usually, find better deals elsewhere.

I have a difficult time with the fit of clothing, mostly bottoms. About once a year, as Spring comes, I try some new crops and the fit is off for me. I've given up. QVC was my go to for crops, not anymore. I don't purchase nearly as much as I used to from QVC. Becasuse of this and paying for returns. I can see QVC side about a lot of returns but if the customer is paying for that return, that's a different story.

@ScrapHappy - I suppose it would matter what condition the item was in, when returned.
Although, the customer is paying return postage, if the item has been worn or used, it can't be resold as new. So QVC would be losing money on that; particularly on expensive items. If someone is doing excessive returns (especially of used items), I can understand their right to send that letter and even close someone's account, if they wanted to.
As has already been mentioned, other retailers also do this.
I've shopped with QVC for decades and I've returned things that didn't work out for me, but I've never gotten that letter.

@Kachina624 You live in a far more perfect and happy world than I do! IF you have a certain body type, yes those measurements may work great for you.
I don't have that body however, and how a garmet fits is very iffy for me and for many other people, especially shorter people. And shorter with basically no waist and a very short body and long legs? Good grief those are things that aren't accurately measured in size charts.
Please understand that for a lot of people, a size chart does not have all the relevant information. For Talbots, LL Bean and a lot of others charts aren't always on the money either.
For casual clothes? I buy Lands End mostly and buy them a little bigger on top to be safe and know that that elastic waist band is going to be rolled down one time always. I have on LE knit capris turned down on the top and an LL Bean T-shirt 1 or 2 sizes too big at the moment.

It should be noted that the percentage of returns has to be sustained and far outweigh the purchases kept to get this letter.
Needing to return for sizes or not liking something is not getting you the letter. Reading about these letters since day one here, the recipients always say the same things--hosts talk about 30 days to return, size charts don't work well, hard to tell how it will fit on tv, etc.
However, the letter goes to people who buy a lot just to turn around and return most of it. That is obvious based on reading all the posts over the years.
