Hi Melvin.

Sorry for your loss.

I like to write limericks.

There once was a Mod named Melvin

Into our thoughts he was delvin'

He said lets write rhymes

Until the time clock chimes

And then this discussion I'll be shelvin'

Take my correction kindly, Melvin, but it's bated breath, not baited. 🐟🐡🐠🌲

@tansy  thank you.  I appreciate that.  I need my glasses on.  I have made several errors tonight and had to make corrections.  Look at my posts.  See any more, let me know.  I can take it.

@Melvin-QVC

When I wake up, I guess you'll be sleepin,'

Deep in dreams about resurrecting these forums,

That chug along without much decorum.

Gone are the spirited jousts about news,

Oh, how we talk about handbags and shoes

And watches and silver and gold and shampoo,

And who has arthritis and who has the flu.

But deep in our hearts we all know,

Tomorrow's another dollar, another show.

I really liked your poem, Melvin. It was very touching. I am sorry for your loss.

I have a poem I wrote in the 6th grade.  I lived in the city but my grandparents had a big farm in a small town only 20 minutes away. I lived for the days we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. This is what I wrote waaaay back when:

Out in the country where the woods do grow
Out in the country is the song of a crow
The dogs run and bark
The children play
The horses give their gayful neighs.

Why do I like the country?
I do not know.
But I know one thing
It's a place I like to go!

(All I can say ....this is as good as I ever got!....  LOL)

@Melvin-QVC

Melvin must've been bored last night,

No posts to poof, not nary a fight.

No threads to delete, no posters to ban,

Melvin came up with an alternate plan.

So to the community he did plead,

Any poets out there, with something to read?

Many posters complied, with some great ones indeed,

Some funny, some serious, but all filled the need!

I fought the temptation to liven things up,

by posting a link to the Insider that's up!

'Still thinking'................

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
