My friend was a public school biology teacher and periodically sends me the most interesting links (not necessarily biology related) to use in homeschooling. This one was one of the best ever.
This is totally worth the few minutes it takes to watch. I realize that many of you have probably already seen it or the documentary.
It brought tears to my eyes for all the people at the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, California Institute of Technology...it's hard to even imagine all the time, energy, and innovation that went into this...you can tell some of the people were sweatin' bullets for a while!
Just bing (or google) How to get to Mars. It should be at the top of the results. It's a 6:33 min edited short version of a 2006 IMAX documentary "Roving Mars."
The one that comes up on you tube reads:
How to Get to Mars. Very Cool! HD
Highly recommended!

I can go to Mars - it is about 10miles down the road from here - Mars, Pa, that is.

It is very cool! Thank you.
By the way, I turned on the closed captioning about halfway through and got a few chuckles at the mangled interpretations of what was being said.

I watched it again with the closed caption on just for kicks. You are not kidding about the translation being mangled! They even did this...
...$300 million miles away."
What?! LOL!

And ever since I realized my (now older) tv came with the optional closed caption feature, I've had added chuckles! I'm never quite sure whether a computer has done it for any particular show or a real live person. (I'm guessing computer for the Mars video. What do you think?)
Glad I could help add to the surprises and delights of this special video. Thanks again, @MacDUFF.

@MacDUFFThank you! I loved it. Space is so thrilling to me,so much we don't know. So much to learn. I have no problem with investing my tax $ in unmanned vehicles that teach us so much.

I'm in my 40s and hope I'll get to see people land on Mars before I pass. The funding for NASA keeps getting delayed, even thoguht they are still the best at what they do. Space X, Elon Musk says he will have people on it by nine years. It is really hard to believe but hope I will get to see it in my lifetime.
