This is the first time I am joining the community chat.

Last day is June 7.....retiring after 44 years. I have mixed feelings. Still love teaching but Kids  have definitely changed as have parents. Plus, so much pressure on test scores that the fun activities have been pushed aside. Have taught all primary grades. Last 20 or so gifted language arts and reading but gifted qualifications have been diluted. This year 1st grade and 2 nd (am and pm). Not easy.  Good luck to all who have many years left.

My son finishes May 22. He has the same teacher for English and math. They don’t like each other. It’s been a long year.

School in Albuquerque is out May 22nd.

My kids are done on June 14.  As a working parent summer becomes a very stressful time, I don't look forward to it at all.

Just went on a early field trip with my son last week.

Went to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

Fun place to visit, had a great visit.

Kids are done school here in early June.

Can't wait for summer vacation.

My son works hard and gets great grades, proud of him.

Yes!  Fond memories of field trips there.  Loved the gigantic heart exhibit that you could actually walk thru!

Wow, if kindergarten students are not respectful, I can see a whole lot of trouble in the years ahead for the teachers.  The world has changed and not for the better.
