always in the past, Lent was not really something our church focused on. We are in a new church this year, and dh and i have decided to give up something for lent.

i suggested perhaps dh would like to give up his CONSTANT scrolling on his phone for items to flip, but he decided to give up his beer instead. Cr@p. that means i had to give up my nightly wine. UGH

@kittyloo  you got to find something else no don't give up the wine. News said we have an abundance of wine seems younger only drink vodka or takquela (no wine) so wine prices are going down. Take advantage. LOL

giving up sweets as I have been doing every Lenten season for probably 20 yrs.   not easy as I love my chocolate !!!    It's just about a week now since Ash Wednesday and it's getting a bit easier ,  but still crave that after dinner piece of candy.   I do wish I could try in being a more patient person, but think that just isn't going to happen 😁  So I stick with no sweets,  plus this is healthy as sugar causes inflammation in the body.  And who knows perhaps I can continue after lent is over 🤔

We do not observe Lent. I am wondering if anyone has a Lent tree? We have a neighbor who has their Christmas tree set up again covered in white lights. It is displayed in their large front window. Can’t think of anything else going on holiday-wise.....could it be for Lent? I don’t know this neighbor so am not going to walk to her door and ask.
