I noticed that Nancy has her hair done a brownish shade with highlights. I wonder if they checked her hair salon. Women get hair done monthly or so and chat. My salon also has guys doing hair.

It would be wonderful if they’d spend this much time on finding lost children!! It’s getting the ridiculous amount of attention because the daughter is famous. I mean come on by 84 you’ve lived your life. We have missing and kidnapped children, their whole lives ahead of them. Let’s FIND THE CHILDREN!! 🙏🏼

The crassness and lack of compassion in this statement is beyond belief.

Would you @DeerGirl feel the same, if it was your mother?  Your father or loved one?

Would you be saying "Oh well, she's lived her life.  Enough already.  Moving on!"

Your statement seems to imply that no one is looking for missing children or any other missing person(s).  The media circus is to blame for the widespread interest in this case.  (The Guthrie family might prefer not to have all the wild theories circulating around out there; all the armchair experts using this for clicks or self-publicity.)

You can't lay that at the feet of law enforcement.  And I see no reason LE can't be looking for Nancy Guthrie and other missing persons.  I'm sure they're capable of working on more than one case at a time.

(Just because you're not hearing about these other cases, doesn't mean no one in LE is working on them.)

Deergirl, I think I understand what you are saying. The media does spend a lot more time on cases like these, rich and famous sells I guess. I agree it is not fair for all the "average cases".

We live in a culture that’s obsessed with celebrities and sports figures. So when someone connected to that world goes missing, they are going to get the headline. It’s not about fairness, it’s about what the media knows will draw attention.

Did you see the recent interview on NBC News with the Sheriff saying the guy might strike again !

@RescueLover

I know I'm not considering everything, but you'd think this "kidnapper" would quit while they're "ahead".

They didn't get any money, but they also didn't get caught ... unless they WANTED to get caught.

Such a weird case.

I understand your point, but when the general public takes a huge interest in a case, you can bet the media will keep trying to give them what they want.  I'd bet the sheriff would prefer not to have to give daily statements, but the public is hungry for more information ... or non-information.

What motive are you leaning toward? Thx

I don't want this to become controversial and lead to the thread becoming deleted.

I will say that both Savannah and her mother were/are women of deep faith and I think that triggered something.

To me, especially given some recent events, that may explain some of the sheriff's most recent statement.

I just can’t believe nobody has turned him in by now.

Or have they and they’re watching his every move ? I’m hoping that’s the case and we have to have faith in LE. 🙏

I have stopped following the case because I believe that Nancy is no longer with us.

My heart aches for the Guthrie family.  I can't imagine anything worse happening to a family.  I hope that they will get closure but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.
