Thanks, @calmwaters.  I'm grateful that you recommended the video in the first place.  The three of them bring a high level of credibility to the conversation and, like I already said, they're asking the right questions.

I was up early so I made some hibiscus tea and I'm watching again!

If there was no forced entry obviously the person had to be in the house before Nancy got home or a door was left open....or purposely left unlocked.

What I can't understand is if they can retrieve footage from the front door camera why can't it be done on all the other cameras around the house.

I also wonder who was paying Nancys bills and in charge of her finances. Why wasn't the security subscription renewed and paid....did the person in charge of paying the bills do this purposely?

You all know a lot more than about this case and I would love to hear your answers or opinions.

@DREAMON - we don't know that footage hasn't been retrieved.  Just because it hasn't been announced or shared doesn't mean they don't have anything.  I think Nanos made mistakes and has misspoken several times. But I also don't think an officer rises to his level of service by being a bumbler.  For now, I want to think they, the PCSD and the FBI, have evidence and some ideas on who is involved and how, and they are working all the leads for an airtight case.  Revealing anything publicly could do harm to that.

I haven't heard anything about who paid Nancy's bills or oversaw her finances.  The Nest subscription could have just lapsed or could have been intentional.  Time will tell, I suppose.

After watching the footage, I don’t think the SUV that pulled into the garage was Savannah. It makes more sense that it was her son‑in‑law doing a walk‑through with investigators, going over the exact steps from the drop‑off. Someone else mentioned this possibility earlier, and it fits standard procedure for the last confirmed point of contact. It would also explain why they didn’t want the public to clearly see who got out of the vehicle.

The investigators focus on the small patio, and the slider stands out as well. One agent pointed to the ground as if marking disturbed soil or a possible landing point. That doesn’t confirm an entry, but it shows they were documenting that area closely.

Very good post @manny2 , alot to chew on there. I think your idea of the SIL's walk through sounds more plausible.

I saw the slider door early on but the video (part) I saw was focused at the lights up on both sides of the door. Didnt show any more of it at that time.

Again, good post.

A lot to think about here @SeaGal . The masked man’s behavior on the porch is what stands out to me too. He moved slowly, looked comfortable, and took his time picking at the foliage. That only makes sense if he already knew the cameras wouldn’t alert anyone. He also had to know she likely had her hearing aids out for the night and wouldn’t hear anything. The other possibility is that someone was already inside in case she did hear an alert.

Nancy is 84 but fully alert and sharp. I doubt she ever told a pool or yard worker that she didn’t have a subscription or that her camera didn’t send alerts. That isn’t the kind of information she’d casually share.

That makes his confidence on the porch look like someone in the know. Very disturbing.

As far as I can recall after a month there has been no press conference from the FBI. Is this usual procedure or unusual? I know during the shootings at Brown University there were updates given and I realize it is not the same type of crime. To me the limited info from the Sheriff is vague and sometimes almost non information.

What stood out to me as soon as I saw the camera image of the person was that he was an amateur. If he was there previously, he could have observed that there was a camera near her door. So when you return you walk up very quickly with a can of spray paint and disable the camera. You do not prance around for minutes picking up weeds to cover it.

This is very strange behavior to me and almost seems a bit intentional.

@manny2 , The comfort level of the masked guy was most certainly a profilers dream.

I agree with all you said on Nancy, she seemed to be pretty sharp in her older age.

I cant even imagine how scared she was when she realized what was happening, my heart just aches for her.

Why question who was paying her bills? Has there ever been any indication she didn't pay her bills herself?

Some people don't want or don't feel there is a need for a Nest camera subscription service.

Do we know for a fact that she wore hearing aids?

I believe whether there was forced entry was a detail LE has kept to themselves. If not mistaken the question was not answered. As it should be.

The sheriff is an elected position. He's an administrative figurehead. Many a sheriff is elected and has never worn a uniform. This sheriff's department would have done well to have had a dedicated media spokesperson.

The staging of the crime scene doesn't make sense considering the blood outside the front door was said to contain expectorant.

Considering the intensity of the public scrutiny on a specific couple, I can't think of a more secure place for their vehicles. Whether it's finished being processed, retained as evidence, or simply not wanting to be retrieved by the owners, does anyone actually know, or could it be a case of semantics?

I do think some opinions were poisoned early on by a careless, reckless commentator.

I think there is so much more to this investigation that LE has rightfully kept to themselves, and are seriously following leads known to them. The case will not go cold.
