If you look at the original b&w photos, you can see lights in the background indicating it's dark.

It's only those someone has colorized that make it look light.  No idea how someone decided which colors to use.

Laura Ingle on NewsNation just said that a private investigator did a search of area for people with criminal backgrounds and found some with various criminal charges on file. One stood out in that it was a convicted criminal with a rap sheet of 8 pages, including attempted kidnapping, computer tampering, etc. PI has turned info over to LE. Could be a lead.

Think this will be solved soon.

I can't imagine that local LE and the FBI wouldn't have done that already. @nambee

That is why I, personally, will only trust any "colorized" photos if they are issued by LE officials because the eyebrows could have been drawn in, who determined the colors for the eyes, clothes, etc. etc.  

I also wonder if that is a mustache or just a shadow above the top lip.

I hope they are getting closer to catching the monster(s) responsible for this.

@Venezia I agree about that.  The mask has a lighter color encircling the eyes giving the impression of skin above the eyebrows, but it looks like the eyebrows are mostly covered to me.
