Anyone have a favorite brand?  It's just me and my husband-both retired.  No need for super heavy duty!  Thanks...

@nana59  I use the Green Grab brand.  They have both the pods and just the powder whatever your preferance.  It is totally environmentally safe and leaves the clothes smelling so so good!  If you like unscented they have that also.  It really cleans everything so so good with out using any bleach. My whites come out white.

I buy it from Vitacost on line.  No sales tax for me if I buy it that way.   I have not checked out locally where it might be, but, most likely a natural food store environment and a much higher price than Vitacost plus sales tax.  I also use Mr Rebates with Vitacost and get between 6 and 8 % off of each order.  I order LOT AND LOTS  of  supplements and grocery from Vitacost every month.

Re: Laundry Detergent...

[ Edited ]

Just the Basics w/ Oxy- CVS house brand. Sale price is $3.99 for 100 oz. liquid.

Can't beat the clean or the price.

I bought Persil once when it first came out. Hated the strong scent!

Tide Free and Gentle for our family.  No dyes, fragrance and it gets the clothes clean the first time. The worst detergent I have ever used is Nellies All Natural Laundry Soda. You might as well just use plain water to wash the clothes for all this "detergent" is worth. Totally waste of money. Did not clean the clothes at all. Couldn't even handle plain ole' knee dirt on jeans! I donated the rest of the packets just to get rid of them. Went back to Tide.

For the past 8 months I have used the Nellie's Laundry Soda from HSN.  The kit I got came with two dryer balls and I just LOVE both steps.  The clothes come out smelling fresh (not perfumy).  The dryer balls really speed up the drying process.  It takes like a teaspoon per load and my clothes come out clean.

Buy ours at the Dollar Tree-its only a dollar for 64 ozs. Our clothes are clean and smell good. Having worked for a manuf. of the same most of these formulas are the same.

DH gets his clothes pretty dirty. He cuts wood and splits it. Also works on cars. We also have 5 dogs. No carpeting but lots of throw rugs.

I keep on dancin'

I've been making our laundry detergent for years. Fels Naptha bar soap, Arm & Hammer Washing Soda & 20 Mule Team Borax. The boys like to add the different color "freshening crystals" because they make it look pretty & more fun, but it doesn't do anything extra & they are expensive. I will do it for my grandsons, though. :}  I always used Tide, but since I switched I have been very happy. It gets my laundry clean. Anything that my husband, 2 dogs & 5 grandsons can throw at it. And, my husband never mentioned it before, but he said that in the summer when he would sweat his clothes would smell sour. He doesn't have that problem with the homemade. So it's cheap & it works.
