Did any of you see last night's episode? An engaged couple from Colorado, buying a house in Gainesville, Florida. What an episode. The female was really something.

So we're in Gainesville, Florida looking for a house. She wants it to have a Colorado feel so it will remind them of home. Now, I understand where she's coming from emotionally, but it's Florida.

So they go to the first house, gorgeous house, new construction. She didn't like that the kitchen (that was gorgeous) didn't open up to the living room. I could handle that. She didn't like the double crown molding (she says to her fiance "do you think this house is a little mature for us?). In one of the gorgeous bathrooms, the realtor tells them that the vanity is raised a little, which is a feature alot of people look for, especially if there's a taller man. Anyway, she didn't like that because when they have children (keep in mind they're not married yet- no kids on the way), it will be too high for them. Well, I always see little step stools in children's bathrooms. The counters are always too tall.

And she didn't like the colors and while the house is nice, it just isn't a Colorado house.

So, off they go to another house, also a new build. She loves the fireplace because it's stone. Reminds her of Colorado. But they're not sure that their dog would like the yard. And there's a new house being built on either side. They didn't like that (Hmm.... only takes a few months for a house to be built and then the construction will be done). Other things she didn't like, but it was a nice house.

Third house is a resale. It had been re-done and was very nice. Reminded her of the 90's and, alas, did not remind her of Colorado. While the wall colors were ok except for one room, they didn't remind her of Colorado. I guess she's never heard of paint.

So while we're waiting for the decision, she said that one of her concerns about moving to Florida was the food. Would there be food in the grocery stores, etc., that she liked. She likes organic and she was afraid that the food in Florida would all be FRIED.

They ended up with house #2. I thought she was a piece of work.
