I see that Denim and Co. is on, and it reminded me of my new lace jacket, A286345. I took a chance on it since it was a TSV and free shipping, and was pleasantly surprised.
I'm only 5'3", so was a bit skeptical, but the fit was nice in size small. I've always liked a sort of mixed media look, but "too much going on" always overwhelms me. This is a subtle, soft, stretchy lace over a french terry type knit.
What surprised me was how versatile it is, as well as comfortable. It's great casual, but also cute for out to lunch with a skirt and boots. There are the usual neutrals, but also dreamy sorbet shades like the spring lilac I got, and a clear aqua that I'd love to get next. Especially since I keep wanting to wear my lilac one with everything, so a new shade would keep people from getting bored with my outfit...

@Oznell I had a sweatshirt made from the same configuration, lace over french terry and it shrunk terribly, causing it to go out of whack so to speak. So take care when you wash and dry it.

Thank you so much, CelticCrafter for the warning-- I'll be careful. Years ago I got a knit jacket that only had lace panels, not all over lace like this one. Luckily, it kept its integrity after washing. But now I'm wondering if the knit being "encased" in lace will present a problem. Must handle gingerly, at least the first time...

I got it too, (in lilac) even after reading the boards and what seemed like the majority of people disliking it for one reason or another....I LOVE IT!! I think the lace is more of another fabric layer (cutout overlay), rather than true lace. It feels sturdy. It washed well.
I got it to wear on casual Friday's at work. It's perfect, sweatshirt-ish without being frumpy. The only thing I'd change would be the pockets, I wish they were slash pockets rather than the patch pockets, but they blend pretty well, so they don't really detract from the look.
Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of the D & Co. from years back ![]()

So well put, Catlady Nicole. My sentiments exactly! I also had the same reaction to the patch pockets at first. Do my hips really need this, ha. But at least they stay flat. Now I think they give the jacket a fun, more vintage, and less standard sweatshirt look than slash ones would...

Well, it's officially a HIT! Wore it to work and every single person to see it has said how lovely it is.
The lilac is a little shot of spring!
