@JJ wrote:are better than the "brand" here because that company got too big and basically, had to cheap out??? Sorry, but when you have to trash a brand to sell your brand, your brand isn't worthy of my dollar.
I know I probably should just let it go and not comment, but that just really bugs me.
The brands she likely refers to DID cheap out, BUT, here's the reality: prices of raw materials, taxes, etc...go up. The consumer will only spend so much on a product and if it gets too pricey, won't buy at all or will move to a cheaper brand. LR doesn't have the buying power that the Q does, so everything she buys is going to be much more expensive to begin with, then she adds her mark up. She has to try to convince people that what she sells is more uniques, better, etc...it's sales. Maybe that's not the best way to go about it and she'll learn the hard way.
I like the brands the Q sells. In fact, I just bought a bunch of lanterns that I didn't need, but I like them. Even if the brands cut corners here and there and I can still live with it, I appreciate that they try to keep the price point down. When and if the quality becomes an issue to the point where I feel I can no longer support them, I'll croos that bridge...when and if.
Personally, while I like LR and was sad when she left, I think her products are too kitchy and over priced.
I think it's a matter of one of the Q brands overexending itself rather than the cost of materials etc, in the past it was sold only in exclusive gift shops or online......but now not only does Bed, Bath, Beyond now offer them, but i also now saw both brands at Hobby Lobby too.....and the brand seems to not be the quality that the QVC ones have.....but I think that has more to do with the QVC customer that will be more vocal with timers and quality and wont be afraid to return the merchandise....
@SpurtMay be part of it. I have MANY candles, older ones from the Q, newer ones from the Q and some from other stores. The newer ones, no matter where they are purchased are not as good, imho. I notcied one particular set of votives Q used to have has many horrible reviews over the timer. I've never had an issue with the timers on any of my candles.
Q customers are more vocal, but since the recent oddness surrounding reviews, I'm guessing it'll look like we're "less vocal". ![]()

@shell garden, the fact that you find the detailed reportings here humorous and ironic is inconsequential. She was a long-term salesperson at QVC and some people are just curious as to her post-QVC plans whether they like her or not. Besides, all topics here are open for discussion, pro or con.
P.S. That large emotie gif is really creepy. :-)

@shell garden, all you had to do was say Tribe Member and I feel compelled to respond. Y'all can enjoy your shopping experiences with Lisa. No one is taking that away from you.
I, however, am compelled to observe this debacle, for no other reason than simple curiosity and to give others a heads up for what might be in store for them should they choose to shop with LR. It's called a "review" or "commentary" or "assessment". They happen everyday, everywhere.
Please understand that I was a disappointed shopper in the the early days of her business and was downright attacked by some members of your lovely group. See, this is the repercussions of that behavior and Lisa's: unhappy shoppers get to express their views as much as the happy ones (everywhere else EXCEPT Lisa's page).
Honestly, I once liked and admired Lisa very much and only wanted her to succeed. I still do. That's why the constructive criticism.

@Sheilaray.......I am so sorry you were disappointed in Lisa's items and were attacked. Rest assure, I was NOT one of those who attacked you there. No one should do that to another.
I want Lisa to succeed to and would want that for everyone who chooses whatever they want for their life. Constructive criticism is beneficial in alot of ways, but when some (not all), attack using hurtful words about someone's looks, lifestyle, overly obsessive stalking and reporting in a cruel way, that is not considered constructive criticism. Sadly, in some ways, it is OO (overly obsessiveness) and BB (brutal bullying). Why do some have to go overboard? I don't have the answer to that. ((HUGS)).

All topics should be open for discussion, pro or con, but alot are going overboard to the point of bullying. At the same time, posters should not say that Lisa's Tribe are obsessed.....the non tribe are more so. That is what is ironic with their daily reporting of what is going on over there.....but hey, if that's their entertainment, then admit they are part of her tribe too, one way or another.

Fine, but you can also look at it as LR lovers being obsessed with lambasting and ridiculing posters (IMO, a form of bullying) for making their observations and expressing their opinions. You have been in the habit of doing that.
You have also been in the habit of bringing LR’s comings and goings, and products here on a regular basis, knowing full well the type of responses that would ensue. You’re too intelligent not to know. You talked about “OO” in your post #107? I would venture to say you are "OO" as well.
I like you as a poster, but let's call it exactly the way it is. It goes both ways.

@SaRina....I like you as a poster as well. But, I have never, ever bullied anyone. All comments are welcomed, pro or con, just some (not all) have gone overboard, don't you agree? And, yes, I have started threads about Lisa's items to inform those who may want to purchase, but I stopped when I saw the continual controversy in a negative way. Pro and con statements were nice to read, however, when it started getting a little brutal, I have not started a thread in quite awhile. I did not even participate in this one until today when I read some of the overbearing statements and wanted to point out that Lisa's TRIBE members were NOT the only ones who were tracking her every move. As evident, the NON TRIBE members are as well. So be it.
Think what you may, we all have different opinions. We can all laugh, have fun and have pro and con opinions, just be a little kind toward one another especially toward Lisa. You may not like her or her items, but she is a human being and I don't see other ex-hosts or past/present vendors have such a brutal attack on them as I see on her. Have a wonderful day.

And so what? "Overboard comments" go on all the time on these boards and "overboard comments" are in the eye of the reader, but you obviously take (and have taken in the past) tremendous umbrage at the negative comments regarding LR. That can most definitely be construed by some as overboard.
I don't have anything further to say on the subject. :-)
