@esmeesmerelda Hello. Yes I do, but I'm trying to learn from the other posters how to post correctly & improve my skills. Appreciate your help.

OP, you have posts all the way back to 2011.
Why do you keep pretending you're new to the boards?
(BTW google searches are quick and easy lookups for commonly used internet acronyms, articles on trolls etc.)
at only about 61 posts per year.............doesn't seem so far fetched she wouldn't know some of the internet shorthand..........I've been posting for a lot longer then that and have more posts here then she............and I don't know most of them..................................................raven
True.
Should've clarified my comment addressed not just this query but also many of her recent posts, threads feigning newbie innocence much of them now deleted by the mods. Hence the elephant reference, and the fact my posts resonated with others who hearted. No biggy. Just part of the entertainment we see here sometimes lol.

This post has been removed by QVC because it is unnecessarily rude

@raven-blackbird.....You're right. A lot has changed since my first posts. Back then I didn't even know how to reply to a specific post, check my list of posts, etc. It's just like there are new things to learn each time my computer or cell updates. I'm definitely not a techie and when I received my IPad, spent many hours at the APPLE store trying to figure out what I did to mess it up. Thanks.

Acronyms are different from abbreviations. OP, IMO, FYI, LOL...these are not acronyms, but abbreviations. Acronyms are abbreviations that are pronounced as words like NASA, RADAR, LASER, SCUBA. This is a pet peeve of mine when people say it's an "acronym" when really it's an abbreviation. I know I'm nit picking...just kick me...LOL!![]()

I usually google "internet acronyms" and find them.
Or maybe all those websites use the wrong terminology.
But interesting point nonetheless, and no kicking lol!

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
And some cannot be fooled; no one ever seems to remember that.
SMH is an acronym for Shaking My Head

An acronym (sometimes called an initialism) is simply a word formed by taking letters (usually the first) of each word in a phrase to form an abbreviation. Acronyms are thus a subset of abbreviations. (Notice that they may be pronounced as words themselves or spelt out depending on the case.)
