@insomniac2. I have no idea what's in an ice kit, but when I had my TKR, I got one of those old fashioned ice packs with a screw on top, filled it about half full of water, and set it flat in the freezer. A large block of ice doesn't melt so fast. I really didn't do a huge amount of icing. Since I live alone, I spent my first two weeks after surgery in a rehab facility.
