Dear HiLo, I hope you were able to read my reply to your email at the old address. If not, I will resend that to your new one later. So glad the acupuncture is working so well!!

Dear friends, we are home safely since late Sunday, but I haven't caught up with your posts here yet. Will do that soon. Praying Selah continues to heal and has heard good news from her tests!

Love and blessings to each of you!!

Yips for your rain, snappy! I know it has been long anticipated there and I recall you saying you enjoyed rainy days. Will keep your state in my prayers for no land slides. It's 26° here right now and cloudy. A far cry better than the weekend temps. Giving thanks! I did make it to church with my DR chair on Sunday. For some reason, my legs became weak and shaky after sitting. Had some trouble getting back to the car. Told the nurse at my surgeon's office when she called to set up my next surgery date for the 10th. Waiting for him to contact me, but she said muscle spasms are quite common ... I dunno, but it seemed to be from the nerves, rather than muscles. Noticed the same following our long drive back from their office, too. Praying for the best.

Those shelters would likely help provide shade in the heat, too. Never thought of it! I only know my sil says, they are designed as wind breakers---kinda aerodynamic, and to retain heat, so they may get too hot in the sun, in warmer climes. And yes, Lurky---they can float, too, but are most usually delivered on flatbed trucks.

My dil, if she is a closet bully, disguises it well with the passive-aggressive behavior. Likes to appear to be the victim after bringing others' anger against her. We in our family work hard to not react ... and since you never know what the truth is from her; it's very hard to know HOW to react anyway. Want peace for my son and grandkids, but snappy, I do not believe she is seriously involved in any occult practices. She says these things to shock or offend. To get the families to make a fuss over her. The danger though is that her spiritual needs are not being met, and though my son (like your GS) is saved and believes in the Trinity, he is not much of a church goer and so the childrens' needs aren't being met either. They being age 3 and 1, there is time and hope. I pray that when they are called, they will be free to answer that call. I sincerely hope they do not grow to disrespect their mother, the way she is demonstrating to them by how she openly disrespects her own. Thank you, my friends, for praying on behalf of us all!

Greetings, HiLo! Wonderful news on your progress. Looking forward to hearing from you whenever it is convenient. God bless your son for helping you. UPS drivers work so hard, esp this time of year. Yes, I have those pics scanned in and ready to go! Will wait until I hear from you.

Welcome back, Joy! No hurry in catching up here. Like your "nekkid tree", the thread isn't going anywhere (QVC-willing) until you can get to it. Yes, I enjoyed reading your post on the hello thread. LOL @ your son's fears for Gracie's future career!!! I want to post there, but don't have the stamina to address all those sweet ladies too right now. Can read and keep up, tho. Take care on those slick roads! Happy birthday to your son tomorrow.

Be blessed, all. Always!

Greetings from a very rainy SoCa. So glad for a warm comfy house, and for the rain. It started over the weekend, but stopped yesterday and started again last night. Been steady all day. My roses are thrilled and so are the African daisies, pretty lavender flowers doing the happy dance. Poor DD has to have her kids in the classroom on days like this. Had a video for them during morning recess. Probably at lunch time also. The cable is out, or she would put PBS on for them.

WaJa, thanks for the nice post on hello. So glad you are safe and sound...well, as much as you can be. {#emotions_dlg.sneaky}

HiLo, thank you for remembering MamaS. I always worry for her and pray for her. She is so alone. Glad your acupuncturist is helping you. A lot. Good news.

Selah, brrr it's cold there. I'm cold here in the low 50s, but it's raining. DD saw lots of worms out doing their thing. Poor critters, but they do important work in the soil.

Glad you got to church but sorry about the shaky legs. I'm sure your situation is different from mine, but those are my symptoms too. Very weak legs that shake and make it hard for me to keep my balance. That's why I'm going to have the ultra sound. It's not new, but getting worse fast. It almost seems like nerves to me also. I was like this as a child, but not to this extent. One neurologist told me that I have congenital myopathy. My PC doc said that sounded like a convenient statement when he really didn't know what was wrong.

Will you be having the same surgery on the 10th that you had before? If so, you know what to expect. Praying it is all successful and you come out of it with no pain.

Glad you don't think your DDIL is really involved in occult practices. Of course you are concerned for your little grandkids. Just love them and pray for them and keep the lines of communication open so when the Lord works, there will be no walls of separation. My DS married very young. His wife might not have been a believer, I don't know, but for 16 years they lived as if God didn't exist. Just worked, had kids, kept house, did nothing bad as far as I know, but had no time for the Lord. I had everyone I knew praying for them. We could usually get them to church on Easter and Christmas. One year they showed up on Palm Sunday and then Easter and then every week. I asked my DS why. He told me that something had happened and he had "hit the wall" and knew that he needed the Lord. He had nowhere else to turn. I still don't know what happened, and it doesn't matter to me. What I'm saying is, don't give up, and don't assume the Lord isn't working. My son said he always knew what was wrong, but was unwilling to submit to the Lord. He is now a 60 year old strong man of God, the spiritual head of our family since hubby is at Home.

Take care each of you dear friends,

Smile Thank you for sharing this good news about your son and dil, snappy. You're right, we should never lose hope in the good works of the Lord. He can make a way, when we cannot even imagine one. It often takes hard trials in life to force us to grow in Him---mature in our faith in Him. Even those who seem stunted in emotional maturity can grow if they choose to, or ... are forced to. I pray my dil can want to choose to, for the sake of all who love her, including the children. Thank you for spreading hope through Jesus Christ, my friend!

I did not know you have this weak and shaking leg problem, too, and have always had it ... and now it is becoming worse. Very sorry to learn this! I hope the ultra sound will reveal the cause and I pray your dr can correct it. For me, it is new, since the surgery. It was my greatest fear that some of the many nerves in the spine could become damaged through surgery---or the disk collapse themselves without surgery. My surgeon spoke very reassuringly when he called, saying this is not uncommon and how I will need to strengthen my core through PT. Truth be told, I have likely needed to strengthen my core for years, since exercise was never high on my list of priorities. Have always been busy and active, but not in the way my body needed, I suspect. Just the opposite. Now post-surgery, while recouping, my muscles have weakened and go into spasms. This is what they are telling me now, and it all sounded accurate, the way he put it to me ... Of course my fears tell me otherwise, and there is some tingling that accompanies the weakness and shakiness, that suggests nerve damage. I know nerves must regenerate, too. Hope that's what they're doing! Spinal stenosis can also cause this, too. So many ifs.

Yes, same surgery to replace the disk above the one which was replaced the last time. Please keep us posted on your test results and be very careful that you don't fall. Praying for you, snappy!

I see on the news that parts of your state is flooding and raising mudslide fears. Hope that's not in your area. Praying no loss of life for any.

If your dd's students are anything like me, they will love the video time. Well, it was film projectors in my day, but I loved esp the history and nature films. Other than the fact, that a few annoying boys would seize the chance, in the dark, to blow gross spit balls through straws into the backs of our heads!

Spitting snow here now, almost as annoying. Esp for parents of young ones who may leave school or daycare early. Expecting a call or two for hubby to leave the shop and pick up the grands who are in daycare and pre-school.

Be blessed, friends---and be a blessing to all!

Hi Selah, glad that my son's experience is an encouragement to you and others. The sad part is that sometimes people make unwise decisions while wandering and have to live with the consequences. But, even then, the Lord can use all of that for His glory and our good.

Thank you for explaining your surgery and the reason for it. I've had abdominal surgeries and know that it takes a long time for nerves to regenerate, so it's reassuring that your doctor thinks what you are experiencing is common. We just have to put ourselves in their hands, remembering that the Lord is the Great Physician. Boy, I hear you about the need to strengthen the CORE. Exercise is not my thing. I have had these weak muscles all my life. Couldn't do lots of what other kids did, and always felt that I must be lazy and fat and that something was wrong with me. I had no idea it could be a physical problem. Hubby and I went to the gym for a few years after he had his cardiac bypass surgery. I hated it, but did benefit. I never had that "high" that others talk about. I also get muscle spasms, Charlie horses in my calves and right foot. Walking down more than 2 flights of stairs causes such tightness and muscle pain that walking doesn't return to normal for several days.

Enough. I'm really doing well considering how old I am. Grateful for all that could be wrong but isn't. Thankful for what I have.

DD said the kids had a blast yesterday. They get all crazy silly when it rains. They don't see it often. They are young, and we have been in a severe drought for years, so this is new to them. She said there's nothing like 600 screaming kids!! It's not raining now, but it did in the night and it's gray out there and in the low 60s. This sort of weather makes me feel invigorated. Hope you have a nice evening. Take care of yourself.

Hi to everyone.

Happy Thursday, everybuddy! Almost Friday, and I can't wait. It has been crazy busy here at work since the Thanksgiving holiday. Just now getting to read your posts, and wow, Selah! Next Wed for your second surgery. That seems so quick and considering the mobility problems you're having from the first, I will be praying extra hard. Strengthening those core muscle groups should benefit you a lot, but gosh......... I hope it won't be as painful following back surgeries as it sounds from here. I think I understand now why it will partly be water therapy - weightless, extra-low impact. God be with you, friend!

Did you watch SOA yet? OMGosh........ In case you haven't, I'll just say, I hope Nero gets Wendy, Jax's boys and his own son safely to that farm. (Writers PLEASE, let there be at least one sort of happy ending. Not that kind of show, I know, but this one is too gut wrenching.)

Snappy, I didn't know either you've been suffering with this muscle weakness in your legs, though I do recall you falling and hurting your foot. I'll be praying for you, too. When is the ultra sound scheduled? Could be PT in your future, too, if exercise helped previously. Hope that is all you'll need.

Your low-key Christmas Day plans with your daughter sounds so relaxing - peaceful! We'll be arriving there in S.CA. on the 21st and staying through the 27th. Have other obligations to get back to here by Sunday, the 28th. Then, I would love to stay in for New Year's Eve, but DH and I will have to attend a party connected with his workplace and their colleagues of the international industry. Stress-levels rise each time I think about it. Hate these kinds of rigged "celebrations" that are forced and faked by all. I'm not good with pretensions. Trying to focus on enjoying ourselves with family and friends there for Christmas week. Won't matter to me if it rains, or not during our visit, but I do recall the excitement as a kid! It can be that way here in TX, too, following long drought seasons.

Well, I'm going to be an aunt again. My youngest sister in Utah called me last night with the news. This will be her first child - due in June. I'm happy for her becoming a new mom, but still concerned with her overall situation. I asked if we (Nan, mom, sisters and I) could come, rent a place and give her a baby shower. She just paused, then said, it wouldn't be necessary. Her husband's family and other women from their church are planning something. Will we be invited? Somehow I doubt it.

Big hellos to Joy, HiLo and all our friends here. ~~waving~~ Take care and God bless!

Anu! Wondered where you'd gotten to. Glad to know you're just busy. Did you find a dress/gown for the NY eve party? Know what you mean, tho I've never had to attend a stuffy affair like that. Can you picture it now? Luke and I? {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Now here's where you're going wrong with your baby sister---ASKING. I don't care what their religious beliefs are; this is AMERICA, not whatever-stan and she is your FAMILY! No one would keep me from seeing her, if I had to involve the authorities. Just the fact that she apparently isn't allowed to visit you and vice-versa sends up bright red flags ... and she always has to call on the sly. Infuriates me, so I can understand your concerns, to put it mildly. Her husband needs to be confronted by your entire family about holding your sister hostage out there. Even if she believes herself to be a willing captive. It's all kinds of wrong.

I saw it: SOA! Jax will go next week. It'll be interesting to see how he gets the unanimous vote from his own, and what the condition or favor is that he asked for. I thought and dreaded it would be Nero and not poor old Wayne, that went with Gemma. Those writers! Keeping us guessing until the very end.

This is bugging me. Why would I get a reply from my last txt to DeLaney from a different number saying she is "at the hospital for the night"? I know part of her job involves lining up inpatient care, etc., but isn't that odd---overnight/different cell number? No further reply from either number now. Anyone here heard from her?

Sorry, phone call ...

Thanks, Anu, for the prayers for my next surgery---this whole ordeal. I will just have to pray for the best, and do my very best with the PT. I hope your family will enjoy the time together in CA! And who knows ... Maybe your hubby will be transferred back there eventually.

Snappy, that was awful, thinking of yourself as a fat and lazy child. {#emotions_dlg.sad} Almost sounds like a mild form of MD. Yes, we have to trust to the Greatest Physician to guide our earthly ones in our best interests. I never got any high, adrenaline rushes from exercise either, unless horse and bike riding count. I was never into sports, or cheerleading, but I skinny up until my mid-40s, when I began to "fill out". {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Now I'm too full in the middle by about 30 pounds. Sure that helped my back problems progress. The only thing I hate more than exercising is dieting, but now ... I'll have to learn to do both, regardless. I guess the side-effects might be, at least I won't look like a Dr. Seuss character any longer! {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Keep us posted on what you find out. Prayers going up for you daily. Enjoy your rainy days, and you take good care, too!

I'm still wrapping presents. Wish Martha2 were here with her "gift wrap station" ... Whatever that is! I'm using the dining room table and hoping no one invades thru the back door, with peeking eyes!

Be blessed all. Always!

SELAH, don't worry, it was me using Mike's cell. Had to recharge my own. Remember his ends with "11". It was due to this weather! No trouble getting to the hospital with a patient, but then, after the wait, etc. . . it was very late by then and could not get out of town, so I stayed there, where Mike met me after work. I'll be lucky to reach my parents' home after work today. Blizzard-like conditions. But all else is well. Take good care--you and SNAPPY, too! Will group txt later, friends.

TG, DeLaney and TY for checking in here. You don't even want to know the kinds of things running through my mind. Been watching too much crime TV---AKA "the news". Hope you get tomorrow off! Sounds too risky for any to be on the roads there.
