So many negative things are going on in the world right now so when I see stories of kindness and generosity, it is truly heartwarming.

I have so much hope for the generations coming behind us.

[ Edited ]

Goodness resides in that young woman's heart.  Not that many would forgo being Homecoming Queen no matter what was going on in the life of another.

I hope this big-hearted young lady receives many blessings in her lifetime for being so unselfish at an important moment in her life.

In some areas, being Homecoming Queen is bigger than getting a National Merit scholarship.

[ETA: I want to be very clear that my "In some areas" phrase is not pointing to snobbish vs. unpretentious areas of the country.  In many a snooty suburban high school, kids (and their ambitious parents) fight for the honor of being Homecoming Queen or King.]

Re: Kindness, Generosity & Hope

I just thought this was such a beautiful story. What a lovely young woman, inside and out. Her parents should be very proud of her. Because she is beautiful not only outwardly but inwardly as well. I hope that she looks in the mirror everyday and knows her value is not tied to her looks but to her worth as a person and she is very very valuable. I would love to know such a gracious young lady. I would consider it a privilege. I am very happy that this thread was posted. Thank you@Mersha

What a wonderful, inspiring story! The young lady in blue is the epitome of kindness and grace. This unselfish gesture probably gave the young lady in pink just a small bit of happiness on what is surely the worst day of her life. I wish both of these young women nothing but the best.❤️

Re: Kindness, Generosity & Hope

I often comment on the fact that there are decent, kind, caring people out there who help others in so many ways, who give of themselves to make this world a better place.  This young lady's act of kindness deserves praise and her story should be told.  It is uplifting and gives us hope. Heroes are those who do good quietly and without fanfare.  Thanks for sharing this story of  this young lady, bless her.

I saw this on one of my feeds this week and boy, did I tear up. What a beautiful thing to do. Her parents must be proud.
