~ Kindles, and the like ..... ~

My son wanted to get me one of these, or something similar for Christmas, but I honestly told him I'd rather be able to pick up a book to read. He was surprised, and I guess I am a little strange that way. I'm one of those people who, when I read a book, I highlight, underline, write little notes down the side, etc. I read mostly non-fiction.

I'm concerned a bit that books will eventually become passe' and I'll be out of luck. Anyone else like this?
