If you're an Amazon Prime member you can now choose from one of four Editor pick's books for free each month for your Kindle. This month's selections are "Timebound" by Rysa Walker (the winner of the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award where it beat out 10,000 competitors), "Soy Sauce for Beginners" by Kirstin Chen, "The Widow File" by S. G. Redling, or "Sweet Nothings (A Sugar Springs Novel)" by Kim Law.

The book you choose is then yours to own. It's not a one month rental, but an absolutely free book each and every month. When combined with the free Amazon Prime videos, free loaner book, free 2 day shipping, it's almost getting to the point where Amazon is paying you to become a Prime member.

The January Kindle First choices are now available. Nothing really spoke to me this time around, so I settled for the one that seemed like the best choice for me in "The Barkeep" by William Lashner. The other choices were "The Line (Witching Savannah Book One)" by J. D. Horn, "Mint Juleps and Justice (An Adam Groves Novel)" by Nancy Naigle, and "Descending Son" by Scott Shepherd. Hey, for free though, how can you complain?
