School is almost out for the year ! Only 3 more days. Kids are so funny and I've heard it all I think ! One of the funniest comments I've heard via virtual class is "Teacher, you are one of my favorite things ! Teacher says "well thank you !" Child says, yes my number 1 favorite thing is grass and you are my 10 th favorite thing ! " Teacher says Oh ! Ok ! ![]()
I'm going to miss these little ones and their morning converstions. It's back to in class learning for my grandson next year. 2nd grade, here he comes !!

I am retired elementary school teacher since 2019, and I've heard a lot of cute, funny and some creative things. One that comes to mind is asking a student, who didn't show up with his homework assignment done, why he didn't do his homework. The conversation went something like this:
Mrs. M: "Okay, students please put your homework on your desk and I'll be coming around to check and collect it."
Upon reaching 3rd grade student John's desk with no homework there. ,
Mrs. M: "John, I see you don't have your homework assignment done. That's two times this week, you haven't done it." "Can you tell me why don't have it?"
John: "Good morning, Mrs. M." "You really look nice this morning."
Mrs. M: "Thank you, John, but my question to you is why don't you have your homework?"
John: "I do have it, Mrs. M. It's right here."
Mrs. M: "Well, I don't see it, John. How about you show me where."
With that, John picks up his pencil, holds in up and says..."It's right here, sitting inside my pencil."

Good grief. Are they doing remote learning due to Covid???? Kids every where else in the country went back to real school two years ago.

I am also so curious why they are still doing remote?

Lots of districts have cyber programs that kids can opt into for lots of reasons. My district has a cyber program that students can either do full time or part time.

My four year-old grand graduated from preschool last week; we went to her "commencement" program. She told me right before she lined up with her class "See if you can hold it together, Grams. Don't get too emotional". I obliged....with some tissue.

@Goodie2shoes , will next school year be the first time he and his class have been in an actual classroom with classmates? I'm not sure how virtual learning went. Was it for the entire school day like a regular classroom and they were basically in a virtual class vs. a standard classroom?
