Why would the kids read Viewpoints?

There are much worse things said about them on the internet from other sites. There are blogs devoted to bad mouthing their parents. Plus, there's all the comments that has surrounded the Gosselins from the beginning of the show when Kate turned down the van because it wasn't white and the cribs that didn't match.

bri.....it's not just on viewpoints but on the internet when they google their name too. Granted it might require going to the next google page or two to see all the comments but they're there. Whenever we make any comment in Viewpoints it's on the internet available via any search engine.

I know that, found.

And the blame lies with Kate and Jon for putting their kids on TV. I can't imagine what they're going to find when they start looking on the internet. Kate and Jon have much to be ashamed about.

True. I think Kate will justify to her kids (again) that the only reason she put them on tv is needing the money to provide for them. Also, I think if Kate hadn't been so awful to Jon he never would have left or had the affair.

She has repeatedly said without the show, they wouldn't have had the opportunities to travel and to do the things they have done. It chronicled their lives growing up and "for that, she is grateful."

But at what price? Her family was destroyed and she goes from reality show to reality show to pay her bills. She has to live with that.

One of the biggest issues I had with her is how she cried poor all those years when she, in fact, was not. People would donate time, money, and clothes and toys to her family.

Jon wasn't cut out of the cloth that it takes to be a responsible father, especially one in the situation he and Kate created. I'm sure he loves his children and they, him. Same for Kate and the kids. One parent has to step up to the plate, best they can, when the other fails on multiple levels.

No one knows what their current relationships are with extended family or exactly why or the difficulties they've all experienced. Nothing in any behaviors or eye rolling indicates this family of mom and kids is anything but tight and supportive and loving of one another.

The proclamations of Maddy's poor mental/emotional health from the time she was born is just creepy weird and jaw dropping.

I don't know his background but it seems odd that they would start a family without having a job to support just one child. Maybe when they started out he was gainfully employed? Anyway, when he was on the show with Kate and the kids her public criticism of him was all encompassing. It was like there was not one single thing he could do right.

When they had the twins and later the others, didn't Jon work as an IT guy? She always for mad at him when he was playing with all the kids' and she wanted something done- like putting shelves in their garage- her brother helped- Jon was riding bikes with the twins and she sat on her thrown pitching a fit for him to get back- they hadn't even started the work yet. Raising the roof at him for not using a coupon on a silly faucet when they had already moved into the mansion.. Neither one of them are perfect but he loved playing with the kids.. all those people that helped them and from what I read she basically pushed them out of their lives.

Jon wanted to play more than anything if what was on the show is indicative of their every day life. Those two were poorly suited for one another. Kate probably is a better parent doing it on her own than she was with him, all complaints aside.

I find your remarks naĂŻve and biased.

Jon was a very attention and loving parent. If you watched the show from the beginning, you can see how their relationship slowly dissolved. Maybe they were poorly suited for one another. Nobody knows the answer to that.

I don't believe Kate is a better parent. They're equally at fault.

And maybe Kate is the way she is because of her parents? I watched the show Tuesday and Kate said that when she was young, she had pet rabbits that her dad then used to kill and she had to eat them. Who would do that to their child?

Oh, then, you'd be really shocked at the stuff that goes on in some households. I was forced (I mean physically forced) to watch them cut the heads off of chickens. I was so far beyond horrified and still, to this day, thinking about it makes me cry.

When parents do stuff like that to children, with innocent animals, it's no wonder that some of us like animals more than humans.

ETA: Just to clarify - the chickens were alive at the time of the cutting.

When my mom was young, they had chickens that they eventually killed and ate. Yes she had to do the killing sometimes. However, the chickens were never pets to them. They were always a food source and that's the way things were when she was growing up. My mom was born in 1926.

Kate is younger than I am and while I have no idea where exactly she grew up, I don't personally know anyone my age that had animals on their propery that they killed for food. And the big difference is, the rabbits were given to Kate as a pet.
