Re: KING CHARLES' CLOTHING STYLE

Gosh, you are being WAY too kind, @Nonametoday ,  but thanks, pal!

I think it will be fascinating to watch Charles' clothing choices going forward.

@new nickname 4 mentioned speculation of him branching out more from the double-breasted suit, which would be interesting.  We will have to stay tuned.

In a youth culture, also, isn't it fun when people of a "certain age" are still in the ball game, and widely discussed and analyzed... I find that refreshing.

Re: KING CHARLES' CLOTHING STYLE

The Bank of England has just revealed they will issue bank notes with a new portrait of Charles on them, by the end of this year.

The old coins and banknotes, with Queen Elizabeth's likeness, will be phased out only as they wear out.  So there will be a period of the two different types of currencies in circulation at once.

Am curious to see what type of portrait they'll choose for Charles on the money.  Am so used to seeing the Queen's face on Canadian currency, and I'm sure for the Brits it will be even more jarring!

The new emblem for the monarch, to go on various buildings and some documents:

"C" for Charles, "R" for "Rex",  and the number 3.

Re: KING CHARLES' CLOTHING STYLE

I have never thought of Charles as a fashion plate...his coronation has been announced for June, 2023....to coincide with when his mother was coronated many years ago. I am sure he will be dressed to the nines for that.

Re: KING CHARLES' CLOTHING STYLE

he wears cloths well and always looks dapper .   He chooses timeless styles .  I do like the photo of he and his mom with that black dress suit and looking at the queen with love .   Also in his kilt sitting with the queen in a fun conversation at least it looks like they are sharing a funny story 😁

@Oznell thanks for posting the photos ,  great topic!!

he is my all time favorite actor from that era !  So very handsome ! He wore his clothes so well .  Never miss a movie he's in ,  love especially the humorous ones ,  he's great at comedy even when in a more drama based movie he will throw in that rumor that is almost child like .  Love him 😍

He really seems to like putting one hand in his pocket for pics.

Re: KING CHARLES' CLOTHING STYLE

True, @Icegoddess .   Sometimes, people who self-consciously don't know what to do with their hands when photographed, are advised to stick them in their pockets, rather than have them hang sort of helplessly, or unnaturally.  I read that Fred Astaire, for example, thought his hands were disproportionately huge, and even while dancing, developed some tricks to position them so they didn't look so.

[ Edited ]

Charles' fingers tend to look kind of sausage-y.  A trait it seems he inherited from his mother.   I have always thought her fingers could look sausage-y at times throughout the years.

Maybe that's why he keeps his hands in his pockets.

@San Antonio Gal  She's had that awful hairdo for years. She really should find a new one, although I don't think she really cares.
