I love Costner in westerns. My all time favorite is Dances With Wolves. I love the musical score. The cinematography is breathtaking. The love story is poignant but the story of true friendship and mutual respect that develops between Dunbar and the native Americans is what I love the most. And of course, there are horses, what’s not to like?

I read Costner did most of his own stunts in DWW. He was impressive on horseback, especially in the buffalo hunt scenes where he apparently fell off at one point, got back on and continued the scene.

Open Range is another great movie with KC. If you’ve never seen it it’s worth checking out. It’s been on tv several times in the last weeks. Can’t remember if it was on Grit Tv or INSP.

I like his version of "Wyatt Earp" too.

Paramount often shows his movies too. Especially on the Sundays that "Yellowstone" is airing.

And she did. She actually collected almost a whole set of carnival glass dinnerware they gave away. Each week a new piece. She brought them home to her mother and father.who couldn't understand why she was getting all this free stuff, lol.

Thank you for sharing your story about your Mom and her family. How wonderful. There are many similarities ot my Mom's background as well. How wonderful that your Mom got to live 98 incredible years. My Mom was 94 when she passed.

Thank you for sharing your story. My Mother and GrandMother shared with me from when I was young how movies were so enjoyable and important to them. And yes, my GrandMother used to sew outfits in similar fashion as she saw on the movie stars .

I used to sit and watch old movies on TV with my GrandMother on the weekends . I could recognise so many stars . I watch TCM and not only remember many old movies but they bring back memories with my GrandMother .

Oh, my gosh, why do I love “Mr. Brooks” so much? I mean, my favorite Kevin Costner movie is “No Way Out,” but he was absolutely TERRIFYING as Mr. Brooks. Who knew he could be so effective playing against type? He was so convincing as a serial killer, but it took nothing away from his performances as gentler characters in other movies, like “Dragonfly,” “The Bodyguard,” etc. He is an underrated actor, for sure.

And I thought his Oscar speech was terrific, from the heart.
