  @Judaline @Mersha  @kimbobimbo

I taped  the rerun of  Ms Sustren's show that the 1st poster  mentioned . This episode  aired again at 2am this morning.

Clearly stated  Ms Sustren  said the broadcast was a special  edition  of airing  of rebroadcast episodes  from overseas and on my TV screen it said in red  that it was previously recorded . She not only aired portions of her visit to the Holocaust camps but also when she met with Zelensky in the Ukraine   and another tour in Israel after Oct 7.

I don't think "previously recorded" really matters with something that's timeless-it's been there, what, 90 years or so? People need to know. It's history. And to see the actual photos was pretty phenomenal. Like the piles and piles of shoes. Mind boggling.

I'm sorry I got the date wrong if that's your objection, even though it was "clearly stated." After viewing the Holocaust segment I left the room so I missed the Ukraine thing.

Re: Just saw what today is.................

@Judaline   Of course, we all make mistakes here now and then.

Your original post stated it was Holocaust Remembrance Day and you stated why were other channels not broadcasting this.

Your info was not accurate and I noted that in my post.

Some chose to direct very unkind remarks toward my way and that is expected but unfortunate nonetheless.

For those interested in the topic:

 Another resource, this time a fictional account of an ingenious Jew escaping from Auschwitz ( evidently based partly on Vrba's experience),  is the well-regarded novel "The Auschwitz Escape"  by Joel Rosenberg:

Rosenberg sets up a fascinating scenario, in which young Jacob Weisz is a Resistance fighter who daringly attempts to disrupt a train bringing unwary victims to Auschwitz-- but then events land him in the most dire danger himself...

The novel might make a good companion piece for the true-life exploits of Rudi Vrba in "The Escape Artist".

I believe I have seen the movie Escape Artist. I have watched almost every single Holocaust movie I can.  Also First Person accounts of the Holocaust is good. They have a museum, too. Testimonies on what the Jews and those who helped them went through. Those who lost most of, not only their immediate families, but many of their extended families. I highly recommend both of these programs. They are on youtube.

@jubilant  The Holocaust museum in Washington DC is heart wrenching but well worth the visit. In addition, many states have museums or memorials worth seeing, as one is able to travel. Was glad to see any date confusion regarding the documentary mentioned in the OP was easily resolved and clarification was made that the show was a rebroadcast. Fortunately, that permitted the focus to be on the content, as it should be. As for news outlets, gratefully, we all are able to determine those we trust and prefer for ourselves.

I know what happened. I don't need a visual reminder.

@GoneButNotForgotten  Personally, I want and need the reminders so I am part of the group of people who never let this happen again.
