on the walkway just outside my home/office door. It is officially 99 degrees here right now, but the thermometer in my kitchen window is registering 120 degrees. That's as high as it can go. (Of course, it's in the sun.) We've had less than 1/4 inch of rain in over a month!

Our flowers are wilting in spite of the water we're giving them, and DH's loved and prized roses are literally cooking. The only things healthy right now are the inevitable weeds, which seem to be able to take whatever the sun and Mother Nature throw at them.

The scary part is that Hurricane Season began on June 1st, and the waters in the Gulf of Mexico are unusually warm right now. This allows hurricanes to intensify, and we're still in the recovery period from Katrina. We could sure use some rain right now, and some prayers for a safe hurricane season!
