WEll, I'm doing a turkey in the oven today, no big deal, but I mentioned to my DH that today, we had planned to decorate. I'm guessing we might............I'll need to get in the mood. I'll see how he feels. Uggggggghhh.
Maybe next week...LOL.

If you're roasting a turkey today, your dog will think you're mistress of the universe. We had to skip a traditional Thanksgiving this year and my biggest regret was missing that dreamy look on my dog's face. He was robbed!

I once had a dog who would spend the entire time the turkey was in the oven keeping guard right in front of the oven. It would take a crane to move her when I needed to open the door. It must have smelled so good!

@just bee Ms Bee, I'm thinking your dog was robbed as were you not seeing that great face on your dog smelling and guarding that turkey!
Sounds like you may not have roasted a turkey at your house for turkeyday. Perhaps you need to do one too. Now is not to late!

He really doesn't guard the oven the way 151949 described, but he definitely stays close to the kitchen. People often say they only do holidays for the children; I like to do them for the dog. We like to have a Southern Christmas and a ham to make split pea soup, so maybe a New Year's turkey would work. I need to see that face!

We had a cat named Striper that used to keep vigil over the oven when there was a ham being baked. I'd ask her, what does my favorite little girl want? And she would sort of meow out the word Hahm.

I had a cat that would pace the entire time if I were making chicken livers.
I couldn't cool them fast enough so he could have a taste.
