Re: Just for today..............

we cooked a turkety ourselves yesterday and our little 13 year old pup who is now deaf made her wishes kinown after she had her turkey dog food din-din.

she was on attention for hours until she felt she had her fill.  i don't think she's aware of leftovers yet, though.

Re: Just for today..............

After bringing home the turkey & placing it on the counter top, I turned my head briefly and my dog jumped up and grabbed hold of the turkey. He started running with it. He was dragging this l3 lb'er upstairs and downstairs with me chasing him.

And that was before it was even in the oven! He lived to be l8 years old and a wonderful pet.

In case you think I was pulling your leg, I found a picture of Striper with a ham bone.  I had to take a digital picture of a kodak paper picture.  That year, so said Hahm so much, we put a clean rag rug on the window sill where she liked to sit and gave her the bone.

I once had a dog who would spend the entire time the turkey was in the oven keeping guard right in front of the oven. It would take a crane to move her when I needed to open the door. It must have smelled so good!

I had a cat  that did that.... RIP Meow :-(

Ha! I love that story!

Awwwww, what a cutie!  She has a bit of a "look" in her eye...like she might be saying "Yes, I'm a cutie and I want to keep it that way, so don't even think of getting near my hahm bone!"

P.S. You're so high tech...I wouldn't have even thought of doing that!  Thanks for sharing.

She was already old and getting 'philosophical' by then.  I can tell you that she snarled and acted insane if you got near her ham bone.  Ham did for her that day more than catnip ever could - she was nearly in a coma.

I had a cat named Muffin who would sit in front of the fridge and clearly say milk, over and over again until you gave her some.
